One month down, 11 to go in 2018.  It's still warm here in America's Finest Suburb.  High of 80 today.  Where's my rain?  Up early at 5:30 to see the Super Blood Blue moon - hiding behind our big tree, got burrs in my socks from the "grass" trying to see it.  Ho hum.  Coulda used the extra hour of sleep.

My Genealogy Wednesday - 24 January 2018

This was a busy genealogy day, but it wasn't a typical day here in the genea-cave.  I actually went to a repository!

My Genealogy Friday - 12 January 2018

This was a stay-at-home Friday for me.  Didn't sleep well last night again, drat.

*  Dropped Linda at the Y, home to read email and blogs, picked her up, and home by 9:15 a.m.

*  Noted that 52 Ancestors - Week 209: #288 James Hildreth (1698-1761) of Westford, Massachusetts posted, and added to the Best Of post.  Wrote New Records Available To Search This Findmypast Friday, 12 January 2018 and set it for later.

*  Rested my eyes for awhile, then at 11 a.m. got on with Andy on WebinarJam and practiced the presentation a bit.  Got to meet Vickie too.

*  Worked in WikiTree for an hour updating Notes for several early White families.  Had lunch at my desk.  Wrote the Genealogy News Bytes - 12 January 2018 post.

*  Checked Twitter and Facebook, added to the Best Of post, and answered email.  Worked in FamilySearch Family Tree adding several Auble lines to my database.

*  We didn't go to dinner with SDGS because Blaine's plane was late getting into San Diego.  Went in at 5:30 p.m. to eat dinner, watch news, read the paper, and do the dishes.

*  Online at 6:30 p.m. to write the two Saturday posts, then TreeShared 90 entries in RootsMagic, almost half of them new.  Did more in FSFT with the Warren and Bigelow families - got everyone matched up and a few profiles merged.

*  Checked Facebook, and wrote this post.  Genealogy today was 9.5 hours.

My Genealogy Wednesday - 10 January 2018

This was a full genealogy day, and I made some progress and had a little fun.  The skies cleared today a bit, rain stopped around sunrise.  Had a hardware problem which I haven't solved yet.

*  Did not take Linda to the Y, so read email and blogs, and noted that Mount San Jacinto in January 2014 -- Post 498 of (Not So) Wordless Wednesday posted.  Added to the Best Of post.

*  Went searching for something to write, and thought of nothing, so did some random research in the women without a surname.  Found data for several of them and added to the database.

*  Gathered up the laptop and my list of topics for the CVGS Research Group and left at 11 a.m. for lunch at Mcdonalds and then to the library.  Got set up, but the projection using the new laptop and VGA to HDMI dongle was real dark.  Can't tell if it's the HDMI port on the new laptop or the dongle.  Used John's Apple laptop and his dongle and it worked fine.  We had 14 attendees.

*  Home by 2:30 and read email and blogs, added to the Best Of blog, and took a nap.

*  Online at 3:30 p.m. to read, then wrote BSO: A Maiden Name, and More, for Jessie M. Seaver.  Checked Twitter and Facebook.

*  Went in at 5:30 p.m. for dinner, watched TV news, read the paper, put out the trash, and washed dishes.

*  Online at 7 p.m. to read, then found a record and wrote the Treasure Chest Thursday post.  Found more town records, a probate record, and deeds for the biography of James Hildreth.

*  Added to the Best Of post, checked Facebook, and wrote this post.  Genealogy today was 9.5 hours.

*  Read email and blogs, noted that Treasure Chest Tuesday - 1876 Voter Registration for Elijah McKnew in San Francisco, Calif., and added to the Best Of post.

*  Reviewed the FHF presentation one moreb time, and saved it as a PDF, then Dropboxed it to Andy.  Tested out the WebJam site again, my sound worked this time.

*  Posted "Finding Your Roots'" Henry Louis Gates Jr. to Keynote RootsTech 2018 and answered email.  Had lunch.

*  Wrote Genealogy News Bytes - 9 January 2018 and laid down for a nap.

It was an interesting day, and then the college championship game.   Rain, we finally got rain.  More on Tuesday.  Good.

*  Dropped Linda at the Y, home to read email and blogs, got onto Zoom early, then went to get Linda and home by 9 a.m.

*  Got into the Mondays With Myrt at the end of the green room, and we started, and the system worked.  Didn't get to talk about what I wanted, but that's OK.  During the webinar, I decided to test the share screen feature and it worked, but I didn't intend for it to be shown to everyone.  Something happened.  Not sure if that's a bug or a feature.  Over at 10:45 a.m.

*  Online at 9?20 p.m. to read, check Facebook, and write this post.  Genealogy today was 8.0 hours.
