My Genealogy Monday - 30 November 2015

11 months down, one to go.  I wonder what will happen in 2016?

*  Read email and blogs, noted that Amanuensis Monday - Post #296: 1764 Will of Jonathan Lewis (1688-1764) of Staten Island, N.Y. posted.

*  Joined Mondays With Myrt for 30 minutes, then off to Mission Valley for my OASIS class.  Only 4 today - a good session, plenty of questions, and lots of amazement for how rich the records are.

*  Home by 1 p.m.  after stopping by the Good Feet store, had lunch, then met with Joe on the wood work.  They painted the patio cover again.  Done!  Took a nap.  Cleaned up the back yard a bit and put the bird food back.  Need to put nails up for the two other bird feeders.

*  Online at 4 p.m. to read, noted that New or Updated Record Collections at FamilySearch.org - November 22 to 28, 2015 posted, and wrote Do I Have Enough Information to Join Society of Mayflower Descendants?

*  Went in at 5:15 p.m. to watch TV news, eat dinner, read the paper, and wash dishes.

*  Online at 7 p.m. to read, then add to the Best Of posts, check Facebook, and worked in Ancestry Hints for awhile - resolved 66 of them.  Then worked in the Ri surnames adding content and sources, and got down to the Ro surnames.

*  Answered email and wrote this post.  Genealogy today was 9.5 hours.

My Semi-Gen Weekend - 28-29 November 2015

Other than blogging, I got very little done this weekend genealogy-wise.

1)  Saturday, 28 November:

*  Read email and blogs, and noted that Surname Saturday - LNU (England to colonial New England) posted.  Wrote Saturday Night Genealogy Fun - Thanksgiving Memories and set it for later.

*  The wood guys came with the new door and installed it.  The usual crew came to touch up and clean up.  The foreman told them to repaint the patio cover.  They should finish on Monday.

*  Answered email, checked Facebook, took a nap, and downloaded some probates from AmericanAncestors.

*  We left at 2:40 p.m. for Carlsbad to meet Tami and family to celebrate Linda's birthday at Miguels.  Got some Charlie time outside holding his hands as he walked - still not on his own.  Played word games with Lauren and Audrey at the table.  Audrey dropped a Shirley Temple on my lap.  Linda got her presents and loved them.  We had fun.  Home by 6:30 p.m.

*  Read, finished up the Best Of post, and went in at 7:30 p.m. to watch Aztecs football.  We won 31-14 but the QB got hurt.  So now 9-3, and 8 in a row.  Didn't journal.  Genealogy this day was maybe 4 hours.

2)  Sunday, 29 November:

*  Read email on the phone, blogs online, then watched Meet the Press.  Stayed home from church - watched the Chargers game instead.  We won 31-25, so now 3-8.  Took my nap after rooting hard but silently for 3+ hours.

*  Online at 3 p.m. to note that Best Of the Genea-Blogs - 22-28 November 2015 posted, read blogs, then wrote Added or Updated Databases at Ancestry.com - Week of November 22 to 28, 2015 and the FamilySearch post.

*  Went in at 4 p.m. to watch football, read the paper, and eat dinner.

*  Online at 6:30 p.m. to read, then transcribed a will and wrote the Amanuensis post.

*  Went in at 8:30 p.m. to watch football, read my book, and back online at 9:30 to read, and write this post.  Genealogy today was 4.5 hours.

My Genealogy Friday - 27 November 2015

Three more days in November, only 34 left in 2015.  The wood guys didn't come today - will bring the door tomorrow, and hopefully clean up everything.

*  Read email and blogs, then wrote 52 Ancestors in 52 Weeks - Week 100: #124 Frederick Sovereen (1786-1875) and then San Diego Colony of Society of Mayflower Descendants on the Front Page and set it for later.

*  Worked on the Putman and Martin families trying to find source material for the next biographies.  I have some dates without sources and can find no records.

*  Went off at 11:30 a.m. to Bed Bath and Beyond to get the mesh screen.  Had to order it.  Then to Catherine's and got some stuff for Linda's birthday.  Hope she likes them.  So Part 1 of my shopping is done!

*  Home by 1 p.m. to read, answer email, and add to the Best Of post.  Checked Facebook.  Took my nap.

*  Online at 2:45 p.m. to read, and puttered a bit.  Had to reboot when the computer got slow.  Checked that iDrive is working - it is.   Looked for some mysteries in the database to solve - found some, but found no solutions.  Looked for Dyar obituaries and found one, but then found I had already found it previously.

*  Went in at 5:30 p.m. to watch TV, eat dinner, read the paper and wash dishes.  Online for awhile at 7 p.m. to read, write the Surname Saturday post, then in to watch the Aztecs game.  Checked Facebook at halftime.  A bad loss to West Virginia, 72-50.  Drat, so now 4-3.

*  Online at 10 p.m. to add to the Best Of post, then wrote this post.  Genealogy today was 7.5 hours.

*  Online at 6:30 p.m. to work on the 52 Ancestor sketch, then resolved over 120 Hints on Ancestry, adding content and sources to the database.  Added several more generations to one of James's lines too from Family Tree.

*  Went in at 8:45 p.m. to watch the end of football, then the Aztecs/Cal basketball game.  36-28 at the half.  Read, and wrote this post.  Genealogy today was 8.0 hours.

*  Read email and blogs, then wrote Visiting Las Vegas with Kalle and Aila -- Post #388 for (Not So) Wordless Wednesday and "New Ancestry" Member Tree Suggestions - Vote on Facebook and set it for later.

*  Left at 11 a.m. for the bank, then Plaza Bonita for lunch at Panda Express and - wait for it, shopping! - but didn't find anything I wanted for Linda.

*  Got to Bonita library by 12:15 for the CVGS meeting.  Took notes, took some photos, and left at 2:45 p.m., got home by 3.

My Genealogy Friday - 20 November 2015

Five weeks to Christmas now...and only two weeks to Linda's birthday.  A double gift whammy for me- I'm so bad at it, even after 46 years.  The house guys got the replacement wood installed, all of the wood puttied, masked, and primed today, at least in front and the south side.  Bob the plumber came and unclogged our toilet, yuck.

*  Read email and blogs, then wrote 52 Ancestors in 52 Weeks - Week 99: #121 Mary (Dafoe) Kemp (1776-before 1832) and England and Wales Electoral Registers, 1832-1932, at Findmypast and set it for later.

*  Answered email, added to the Best Of post, and checked Ancestry and FamilySearch for new databases.  Worked in FamilySearch Family Tree in a Seaver line matching folks, but didn't add much to the database.  Sorted the CVGS papers and threw about 3 inches away.

*  Decided I'd better work on the financials for 2015, since I've put it off since January.  Found the records, and did about half of them this afternoon.

*  Checked Facebook and answered email.  No nap today.  Worked some more in FSFT.

*  Went in at 5 p.m. to watch TV, read the paper, and eat dinner.

My Genealogy Tuesday - 17 November 2015

This was almost an all genealogy day.  The house wood workers started today so I "helped" by moving stuff and staying out of their way.  They washed the house exterior today - chipping off some paint in the process.  They also fixed my pinhole leak in the sprinkler system feed pipe which isn't used anymore by removing the sprinkler system pipes and attaching the faucet to the pipe.

*  Read email and blogs, then researched and wrote AncestryDNA Says I Have NADs (New Ancestor Discoveries).  Wrote three CV Genealogy Cafe posts.  Forgot to do the SDGS review.  Wrote Doris Kearns Goodwin is Saturday Keynoter at RootsTech 2016.

*  Added to the Best Of post, then answered email.  Went out and pulled some of the tumbleweeds and put in the green can.  Took my nap.

*  Home by 11:30 a.m., finalized the Best of the Genea-Blogs - 8 to 14 November 2015 post.

My Genealogy Days - 8-9 November 2015

*  Online to finalize the CVGS newsletter and emailed it off, printed off the print master.  Transcribed the will for Monday.

*  Read email and blogs, joined Mondays With Myrt and share the Blanchard material.  Remembered to put the flash drive in my pocket.
