My Genealogy Thursday, Friday and Saturday - 29-31 March 2018

I was doing so well with my journaling until Thursday.  I blame the Padres.

1)  Thursday - I blogged, and we went to the Padres opening game against the Brewers, starting at 1:10 p.m.  We had lunch at El Pollo Loco, got the trolley, and were in our seats by 1 p.m. just in time for the Navy Seal team jumpers and F18 flyover.  Padres lost 2-1 in 12 innings.  We stopped at Marie Callenders for dinner and were home by 7 p.m.  Shoulda won this game - had chances.

2)  Friday - this was a more normal day.  I blogged normally, even did some research, and watched the Padres on TV starting at 7:10 p.m.  They lost 8-6 to the Brewers, who scored 5 in the top of the 9th off our closer, who made a critical error and gave up a 3-run homer.  Shoulda won this game too.

3)  Saturday - another normal day.  Dropped Linda at the Y, picked her up and home to read, add to the Best Of post, and write blog posts.  Wrote two posts for Sunday.  Worked on my 930 project for two hours and made research progress.

We left for dinner at In 'n' Out at 3:45 p.m., got the 4:45 trolley at 24th Street, and were in our seats by 5:15 p.m.  Alas, Padres lost again 7-3, and this wasn't that close.  So we're 0-3 on the season - another terrible start.  Home by 9:15 p.m. Wrote this post.  Done.  Tired.  One good part of going to the games is I'm walking more.

I didn't do statistics at the end of February because of being at RootsTech.

Here are the numbers from my RootsMagic database as of 31 March (with increases in the numbers from 31 January in parentheses):

*  49,828 persons (+ 228)
*  20,102  families  (+ 113)

*  1,181 Multi-media Items (+ 17)
*  3,197 Multimedia links (+ 17)

 I'm up to 57.86% (+0.53%) for citations/events and 187.46% (+1.87%) for citations/persons.

My Genealogy Wednesday - 28 March 2018

The baseball season starts on Thursday - we're going, so it will be a light genelaogy day.

*  Dropped Linda at the Y, home to read email and blogs, picked her up and we went to the grocery store.  Home by 9:40 a.m.

*  Noted that Vincent and Heather Rojo Visit in June 2014 -- Post 509 for (Not So) Wordless Wednesday posted, added to the Best Of post, rested my eyes for 30 minutes, then called AAA and got a new battery for the Lincoln.  Drove it around for awhile.

*  Called the financial advisor about my login to the website and it still doesn't work.  We don't know why.  This probably means I'll have to enter the data by hand for the taxes - about 30 funds and it will take 3-4 hours I fear.  Crap.

*  Had lunch, answered emails, and wrote Dear Randy: How do you find the time to research, live life, and do all those posts?

*  Updated the OASIS presentations and handouts and sent them to the manager to print the handouts.

*  Checked Twitter and Facebook.  Looked at the MyHeritageDNA data some more, and watched two Family Tree Webinar videos.

*  Went in to dinner at 5:15 p.m., watched TV news, read the paper, put out the trash, and did the dishes.

*  Online at 6:30 p.m. to read, wrote two blog posts, worked a bit in FamilySearch Family Tree looking for Buck cousins.

*  Added to the Best Of post, answered email, checked Facebook, wrote this post, and I'm done.  Genealogy today was 9.0 hours.

*  Noted that Treasure Chest Tuesday - 1945 San Francisco City Directory for Lee S. Leland posted, added to the Best Of post, and was tired so rested my eyes for 30 minutes.  Went and got new batteries for my car keys.  Home by 11:15 a.m.

My Genealogy Monday - 26 March 2018

I've been a lazy genea-blogger, sorry.  It was a busy weekend.  Today:

*  Dropped Linda off at the Y, home to read email and blogs, picked her up and home before 9 a.m.

*  Got into Mondays With Myrt and actually got to discuss one of my blog posts - why I blog about my personal research.

*  Noted that Amanuensis Monday - Probate Records for Estate of John Plimpton (1680-1730) of Medfield, Mass. - Part 2 posted, added to the Best Of post, and took my nap.

*  Had lunch, online to write Monday Genea-Pourri - 26 March 2018 and then dug into the income taxes again.  Stymied by an investment house that won't let me log in.  Got the rest of it done, though.

*  Checked Twitter and Facebook, posted IDG Introduces Their Newest IDG Academy class: "Beginning Genealogy - Starting Off Right" and answered email.

*  Went in at 5:15 p.m. for dinner, read the paper, watched TV news and washed dishes.

My Genealogy Friday - 23 March 2018

Another week has gone by very quickly, and I'm further behind than I was a week ago - because I have to prepare for my OASIS class which I didn't know about a week ago.  I have two weeks to get ready for that.  Then there's the taxes, which are stagnant right now.  Forgot to journal yesterday.  Oh well, the usual!

*  Dropped Linda off at the Y, home to read email and lbogs, picked her up and home by 9:15 a.m.

*  Noted that 52 Ancestors - Week 219: #298 James Stone (1702-1783) of Groton, Massachusetts posted, then worked on an email question and solved it, I think.  Wrote New Records Available To Search This Findmypast Friday, 23 March 2018.  Added to the Best Of post.

*  Called the financial advisor about the taxes, and she tried but we couldn't break through a company telephone system to get a live person.  Frustration.  I need to complete the rest of it so this doesn't hold me up more.

*  Answered several emails, tried to nap and failed, and wrote Genealogy News Bytes - 23 March 2018.  Checked Twitter and Facebook.

*  Went in at 5 p.m. to eat dinner, watch basketball, and read the paper, then washed dishes.

*  Online at 7 p.m. to read, add to the Best Of post, and write the two Saturday posts.  Wrote this post.  Genealogy today was 8.0 hours.

*  Added to the new Best Of post, then checked Facebook, and wrote thisp ost.  Genealogy today was about 6 hours.

My Genealogy Thursday - 8 March 2018

I've never been sick after RootsTech, but this time I am.  Not much fever, but a headache, some sinus drainage, and a bad cough.  Taking my 4-in-1 meds and sucking lozenges.  Will use the humidifier tonight.  Linda had it Sunday through today but is not coughing as much as I am.  I have 20-30 minutes of coughing sometimes which is a pain.

I didn't do much yesterday and today, three blog posts, all regular stuff, and a little bit of research.  I will go to bed early again and hope to sleep better in the spare room.

That's life, I guess.  I wish the headache would go away.
