My Semi-Genealogy Friday - 30 September 2016

This was not a big genealogy day for me - we picked up the grandkids at noon and I got nothing done until they went to bed.

*  Dropped Linda, read email and blogs, picked her up, we went to the bagel shop, and home.  I noted that 52 Ancestors - Week 144: #189 Phoebe (Card) Champlin (1730-after 1779) posted and wrote New Records Available To Search This Findmypast Friday, 30 September 2016.

*  Tried to nap but didn't.  We left at 11:30 a.m. for Carlsbad, ate at In 'n' Out, and were home with the kids by 2:15 p.m.  I napped a bit in the recliner while they played.  We played in the front yard after 4:30 when the sun was lower it was cooler - even got some water play.  I trimmed the rose bushes a bit too.  Charlie helped picking up leaves and stuff.  Audrey practiced her gymnastics and played with Charlie.

*  We had dinner at home - something different for everybody.  Charlie does not eat "everything" - we tried ham and spinach on him.  He does love grapes and strawberries and chips and stuff.

*  Watched the Padres game and read the paper.  Pads lost 5-3 to Arizona, so now 68-92 on the season.

*  Online at 9:45 p.m. and read email and blogs, added to the Best Of post, and wrote the two Saturday posts.  Genealogy today was 2.5 hours.

We went to our last Padres game on Tuesday night and got home at 11:15 so I didn't journal.

1)  Tuesday, 27 September 2016:

*  We left at 5 p.m. for the trolley, ate at Tin Fish, and into Petco by 6:45 p.m. to watch the Padres game.  Padres won 7-1 over Dodgers so now 67-90 on the season.  We were 10-11 when in attendance - about the same as Padres winning home percentage.  Home by 11:15 p.m. and to bed soon after.  Too hot to sleep, finally dozed off around 12:30 a.m.  Genealogy this day was 7.5 hours.

My Genealogy Tuesday and Wednesday - 20-21 September 2016

We got home late from the Padres game on Tuesday night so I didn't journal.  It rained all day - more like a steady drizzle - on Tuesday, and it dried up by Wednesday morning.  Very humid from tropical storm Paine off Baja.

1)  Tuesday - 20 September 2016:

*  Did not drop Linda because of the rain, read emails and blogs, noted that Treasure Chest Tuesday -- 1910 U.S. Census for the Torger Leland Household in Deerfield, Dane County, Wisconsin posted.  Wrote Popular RootsTech Event Open for Registration.

*  We left at 9:20 a.m. for Linda's doctor's appointment and my lab tests.  Everything is OK, the doctor doesn't know what's causing with her leg pain.  Home by 11:30 a.m.

*  Ate lunch, added to the Best Of post, took a nap, and online at 1:30 p.m. to read, then researched and wrote How Accurate Are Ancestry.com Hints?

*  Checked one of the Chumps problems and think I found an answer to the question, but not the record of interest.

*  We left at 5:15 p.m. for the Padres game - ate dinner at In 'n' Out, then took the trolley to Petco, in our seats by 6:50 p.m.  Rain delay caused the game to start finally at 8:20 instead of 7:10.  Frustrating.  We left in the 7th at 10:40 with Padres ahead 4-2.  We got home at 11:30, and Padres beat the Dbacks 5-2.  Genealogy today was 5.5 hours.

2)  Wednesday, 21 September 2016:

*  Still wet out, so Linda did not go to the Y.  Read email and blogs, then wrote SCGS Jamboree 2011 Genea-Fun Part 5 -- Post 431 for (Not So) Wordless Wednesday  and  BCG's Free Day of Quality Education to be Broadcast Online Through Legacy.

*  Worked a bit in Geni.com on my Public Access account to be ready for CVGS computer group meeting.  Took a nap at 11 a.m., then had lunch and was at the library by 12:30 p.m. for the Computer Group.  Shirley asked me to demonstrate the site and how to add content and find matches.

*  Home by 2:30 p.m. to read, dozed in the recliner for awhile, then researched and wrote My Father's Newspaper Obituary.  Checked Facebook, added to the Best Of post and answered email.

*  Went in at 5:15 p.m. for dinner, watched TV news, read the paper, and then watched the Padres game and read my book on the tablet.  Padres lost 3-2 to Dbacks.  Now 64-88 on the season, tied for 4th with Arizona.

*  Online at 9:15 p.m. to write the Treasure Chest post, read blogs, check Facebook and write this post.  Genealogy today was 7.5 hours.

My Genealogy Monday - 19 September 2016

*  Linda didn't go to the Y, so I read email and blogs, then joined Mondays With Myrt and didn't get to talk much.  Noted that Amanuensis Monday - Post 339: Bond for Estate of John Metcalf (1622-1690) posted.

*  We left at 11:15 a.m. for Costco and then Sprouts, home after 1 p.m.  Noted that Added or Updated Record Collections at FamilySearch.org - Week of 11 to 17 September 2016 posted.  Answered email, added to the Best Of post, and wrote Dear Randy: What is Your Workflow to Move Ancestry Member Tree Hints Into RootsMagic?.  Took my nap.

*  Online at 3:30 p.m. to read, check Facebook, answer email, and not much else.  Went in at 5:30 p.m. to eat dinner and watch TV news.

*  Online at 6:30 p.m. to read, then wrote two posts for Tuesday.  Went in at 7:10 p.m. to watch the Padres game.  Read the paper, then the first 38 pages of Nathan's new book on the tablet.  Padres won 3-2 over Arizona so now 63-87.
