My Geneaholic Tuesday - 30 September 2014

Nine months gone, three to go until 2015.  I actually dated a post 2015 the other day...changed it after it posted.

*  Read email and blogs, then researched and wrote Technology Tuesday - MyHeritage Mobile App - Research.  Added to the Best Of post.

*  Worked on the Probate presentation for four more hours - got more labels on, reviewed the Rose book again, added some text and images.  About 90% done now.  I don't feel as much pressure as I did last week.  17 days to prepare a new talk is a challenge!

*  Researched and wrote Checking Out FamilyTreeNow.com - a FREE genealogy database search engine.  Not bad for free, but it's not FamilySearch either.

*  Checked Facebook and Google+.  Took Linda to dinner at Miguel's, then we wen t to Coldstone for dessert.  Home by 6:30 p.m.

\*  Watched the playoff game, read the paper, dozed a bit, and came in at 9 p.m. to read and update the Best Of post.  Saw the end of the game, Royals 9, As 8 in 12 innings - reminded me of Padres-Rockies playoff game in 2010.

*  Online to read, and write this post.  Genealogy today was 9.0 hours.

*  Online at 4:30 p.m. for awhile to read and check Facebook.  Went in for dinner at 5:15 p.m. and watch TV news.

*  Online at 6:30 p.m. to read, send the cruise papers, write a CVGS email, and write the Amanuensis Monday post.  Went in early to watch TV and read - tired.  Genealogy this day was 4.0 hours.

*  Noted that Amanuensis Monday - Post 237: 1870 Deed of Land in Taylor County, Iowa from Devier and Abby Smith to D.B. McMurry posted, and wrote Ancestry.com Has Birth, Marriage and Death Records FREE Until 6 October 2014.

*  Worked on the Probate presentation for over three hours - got to the end and started editing and adding graphics and links.  Need to check what I have against reference material now.

My Geneaholic Saturday - 27 September 2014

This was the SDGS seminar day with Cyndi Ingle presenting.

*  Read email and blogs in a hurry.  Left at 8:10 a.m. for Mission Bay.

*  Got there by 8:30 a.m. to register, get my packet, get a hug from Cyndi, and talk to friends.  Got a seat in the second row on the right and enjoyed the first two talks.  Then lunch, and I sat with Paul, Yvette, and others, and Cyndi came over after she ate.  Paul got a picture of us and put it on Facebook.  Cyndi gave her two afternoon talks.  I won a prize basket - the first one drawn.  Came close on another.  Not bad for a $5 investment.  Listened to the end of the Padres game on the way home - they lost 3-1 to the Giants.

*  Home by 3:45 p.m. to go online and note that Surname Saturday -- LNU (married Peirce) (England to colonial New England) and Saturday Night Genealogy Fun - Meet My Grandma posted.

*  Left at 10 a.m. for the doctor's office and my 10:30 appointment.  Home by 11:15 a.m.  Read, then wrote Season 2 of Finding Your Roots Series Starts Tonight.

*  Sent material off to Sally from the research group meeting, then wrote Obtaining a Social Security Application Record and set it for later.

*  Online at 10:30 p.m. to read, add to the Best Of post, and write this post.  Genealogy today was 8.5 hours.

My Geneaholic (?) Weekend - 20-21 September 2014

It wasn't much of a genealogy weekend - a little blogging, a little researching, a society meeting, and Padres and Chargers games.

1)  Saturday, 20 September 2014:

*  Read email and blogs in a hurry, then off to UCSD for the CGSSD meeting.  Del did Ancestry at 9 a.m. (watched an Ancestry webinar...boring!) and then Joel Weintraub on the 1950 US Census at 10:30 (fun, lots of good info).  I tweeted a bit in the latter.

*  Home by 12:30 p.m. to read, noted that Surname Saturday - BEMIS (England to colonial Massachusetts) and Saturday Night Genealogy Fun - Do/Did Your Children Know Their Great-Grandparents? posted, then took a nap, watched football on TV, and read the paper.

*  We left at 4 p.m. for the trolley, stopped at El Pollo Loco for Linda's dinner, and in Petco Park by 5:15 for the 5:40 game.  I had a pizza slice for dinner, plus the ice cream cone.  Padres beat the Giants 3-2.

*  Home by 9:45 p.m. to watch the end of the Aztecs loss to Oregon State, 28-7.  Online to read, check Facebook, but didn't blog.  Genealogy this day was 4.5 hours.

2)  Sunday, 21 September 2014:

*  Read email and blogs, and finished up the Best of the Genea-Blogs - 14 to 20 September 2014 post.

*  Didn't go to church, but watched the Chargers game vs. Buffalo.  We won 22-10, so now 2-1 on the season.  Defense looks better, but we're running out of running backs.

*  Watched the Padres game, read the paper, took a nap.  Pads won 8-2 over the Giants, 6-1 on the homestand so far, now 75-81 on the season.  We ate dinner, and I went out and mowed and watered the front lawn.

*  Online at 6:30 p.m. to read, then wrote the Amanuensis Monday post.  Checked Facebook, added to the Best Of post, and researched in the Ha-He surnames in the database.  Got down to Hebditch.

*  Answered some email.  Genealogy this day was 4.5 hours.

My Geneaholic Thursday and Friday - 18 and 19 September 2014

I missed journaling again last night - we had a Padres game.  Today was a stay-at-home day, and I got some writing and research done.  It's been cooler these days - high of about 85 on Thursday and about 80 today.  Very pleasant in the fan stream!

1)  Thursday - 18 September 2014

*  Read email and blogs, then wrote Treasure Chest Thursday - Post 232: 1832 Marriage Record of Abigail (Gates) Seaver and Isaac Seaver in Westminster, Mass. and Become an FGS Ambassador for FGS 2015 Conference in Salt Lake City and set it for later.

*  Went off at 10:45 a.m. for lunch with the engineers at Sunset at the Park on Third Avenue - George was back and we had a good talk about grandkids.  I took pictures to share.  Also Warren on Chargers and Rohr.

*  Home by 1 p.m. to read, then wrote FamilySearch Has Added an Interactive World Map to Narrow Searches.

*  The new washing machine came and was installed and demonstrated.  We need some special detergent.

*  Added to the Best Of post and checked Facebook, then we left at 4 p.m. for the trolley station, to the tin Fish for dinner and in Petco Park by 5:30 p.m. for the 6:10 game.  Padres won 7-3 over the Phillies, so we won 3 of 4 and are now 71-81.  Still hope for 76-86, but 7 games against Giants coming.

*  Home on the trolley by 10:30 p.m., read, but not much else.  Started the 52 Ancestors post.  Genealogy today was 5.5 hours.

2)  Friday, 19 September 2014

*  Read email and blogs, then finished up 52 Ancestors in 52 Weeks - Week 38: #45 Miranda (Wade) White (1804-1850) after sorting out her death date.  Wrote "Genealogy Rockstar" Poll Results also.

*  Online at 6:20 p.m. to read, then worked in Vermont VRs to add content and sources - did about 20 of them on 3rd page of Seaver results.  Up to 54,465 source citations.

*  Went in at 7:15 p.m. to watch the Padres game, read the paper, water the front yard, and finish my Daniel Silva book.  Washed the dishes and played on the phone.  Padres beat the Giants 5-0, so now 72-81 and won 4 of 5 on the homestand.  We go on Saturday again.

*  Online at 10 p.m. to read, add to the Best Of post, check Facebook, and write this post.  Genealogy today was 9.0 hours

My Geneaholic Wednesday - 17 September 2014

This was a very typical summer Wednesday - some blogging, some CVGS, and some Padres.  Oh, some research too.

*  Had a good night's sleep for once, and went off to the medical center for my blood stick at 7 a.m.  Home by 7:30 a.m.  Ate breakfast, read email and blogs on the phone, and online at 8 a.m.

*  Wrote Ruth, Gerry and Randy at Church -- Post 325 for (Not So) Wordless Wednesday, then CGSSD Program on Saturday, 20 September Features Joel Weintraub and set it for later, and researched and wrote I Am Related to Theodore and Franklin Delano Roosevelt Too and set it for early afternoon.

*  Went off at 11 a.m. to McDonalds for lunch, then to the bank for yenom, and the library to visit John's group, and then the CVGS computer group.  Boring...checked out some AMT hints while occasionally answering questions.  Found out that most of the articles on the CVGS site were written before 2006.

*  Home by 2 p.m. to read, check Facebook, and work in the next 50 matches of Vermont VRs - added some content and lots of sources - up to 54,416 sources now.

*  Went in at 5:15 p.m. to watch TV news, eat dinner, and read the paper and take the trash out.  Online for awhile to read, add to the Best Of post,  and not much else.

*  Went in at 7 p.m. to watch the Padres game and read my book.  Pads lost 5-1 to the Phillies, so now 70-81.  Checked email and blogs while watching.

*  Online to read, answer email, check Facebook, and write this post.  Genealogy today was 8.5 hours.

My Geneaholic Tuesday - 16 September 2014

We gave the grandgirls back today - Tami and the baby are doing fine with more rest, more quiet and a doctor's visit.

*  Read email and blogs on my phone while getting the girls breakfast.  Researched and wrote  Technology Tuesday - Ancestry.com Updated Mobile App - Searching.

*  Worked a bit adding sources for the Smith deeds to RootsMagic - I let that lapse and shouldn't have.

*  Packed up the girls and we left at 11:30 a.m. for Carlsbad.  Met James there, had lunch at In n Out, and we were home by 1:45 p.m.

*  Read, then researched and wrote Adding Notes to the FamilySearch Family Tree Using RootsMagic.

*  Found Vermont Death Certificates on FamilySearch, so worked through the first 50 of 950 matches.  That may be a long slog.

*  Went in at 5:15 p.m. to watch TV, eat dinner, read the paper, and back online at 6:15 p.m. to finish the first 50 Vermont death cert results.

*  Went in at 7:15 p.m. to watch the Padres game, read my book, water the front yard, and do the dishes.  Padres won 5-4 over Phillies, so now 70-80.  I think they'll end up 75-87.

*  Online at 10:15 p.m. to read, add to the Best Of post, check Facebook, and write this post.  Genealogy today was only 6.0 hours.

My Geneaholic Sunday and Monday - 14 and 15 September 2014

I missed journaling on Sunday because of the circumstances - exhausted, sleepy, and I didn't do a whole lot that day.  Monday was almost a nogenealogy day!

1)  Sunday, 14 September:

*  I didn't sleep well - woke up after 4 hours at 3:45 a.m. with terrible worries about my daughter suffering from a bad migraine headache and terrible shoulder pain after giving birth on Friday.  I expected a bad outcome.

*  The worry was relieved when we talked to her after 8 a.m. - the headache and pains were greatly reduced and they had a known reason - referral gas pains.  Don't ask.  We made arrangements to go to Huntington Beach and be there when she came home from the hospital with the baby.

*  I finished up Best of the Genea-Blogs - 7 to 13 September 2014, and we left at 9 a.m. for Huntington Beach.  It was an easy ride - 102 miles to their house in 100 minutes.  The girls were excited to see us, and James left to get Tami and the baby.  They came back at 12:30 p.m. and we all took turns holding Charlie and taking pictures.  He is precious.

*  Tami was still in some pain, walking gingerly and not feeling well.  She napped a bit, while James and I watched the Chargers game.  Chargers won 30-21 over the Seahawks, so they are now 1-1.

*  We gathered the girls and started home at 4:30, stopped at Carlsbad In n Out for dinner, and were home by 6:15 p.m.  Got the girls dessert and they entertained themselves.  I wrote the Amanuensis Monday post.

*  Fell asleep in Audrey's room at 9:45, woke up at 10:30, got Lauren's light out, and went to bed soon after.

2)  Monday, 15 September 2014:  95 F here today.

*  Got a decent night's sleep, so feeling better.  The girls got up late, and I got them fed and settled.  Read email and blogs on my phone.  Noted that Amanuensis Monday - Post 235: 1869 Deed of Land in Taylor County, Iowa from John Craven and wife to Ranslow Smith posted.

*  Tuned into Mondays with Myrt at 8:45 a.m., and we went until 10:40 a.m.  Audrey wanted to run through the sprinkler on the front lawn, so I emptied more water from the washing machine. Got the girls lunch and we went to Sears to buy a washing machine.  Home by 1:15 p.m. to read, and wrote 10th Annual Genealogy Conference and Cruise to Mexican Riviera.

*  Added to the Best Of post, answered email, and then researched and wrote Mining the New Hampshire Death Certificates, 1938-1959 on FamilySearch.

*  We left for dinner at 5 p.m. at El Pollo Loco, and were home by 6:20 p.m. to watch the football game.  Then the Padres game was on, and Pads on 1-0 over the Phillies in 2:08 hours.  Fastest game of our year.  So we're 69-80 now.

*  The girls were still awake, so tried to get them to try to sleep - it's warm in the house and we all have fans going.  Online at 9:15 p.m. to read, check Facebook and write this post.  Genealogy today was 8.0 hours.

Saturday, September 13, 2014

My Geneaholic Saturday - 13 September 2014

This was a sad and scary Saturday...but I got al ot of sources added to the database.

*  Read email and blogs, noted that Surname Saturday - REYNOLDS (England to colonial Massachusetts) posted.

*  We left at 10 a.m. for church for the memorial service of Helen DeVore, a cousin of mine who was in CVGS for a number of years.  A beautiful service.

*  Home at 12:45 p.m. to read, note that Saturday Night Genealogy Fun -- Show Us Your ImageChef Creations posted.

*  Dug into the New Hampshire Death Certificates of FamilySearch and added content and sources to the database - got through all 38 with only 3-4 not in the database.

*  We left at 5 p.m. for Lolita's for dinner, and home at 5:45 p.m. to watch the Padres game.  Linda talked to Tami and she has a bad headache and shoulder ache...sounds scary to me.  We may go get the girls on Sunday if she has to stay in the hospital longer.

*  Padres lost 10-4, so now 68-79 on the year.  Doomed to 3rd place, I think.  Like last year.

*  Online at 8:45 p.m. to read, then worked in the Haw surnames - got through them adding content and sources.

*  Added to the Best Of post, answered email, checked Facebook and wrote this post.  Genealogy today was 7.0 hours.

Friday, September 12, 2014

My Geneaholic Friday - 12 September 2014

A day that will go down in Seaver family history - another descendant of yours truly was born to daughter Tami in Huntington Beach.  Charlie and his mom are doing fine.

*  Read email and blogs, and noted that 52 Ancestors in 52 Weeks - Week 37: #44 Jonathan White (1804-1850) posted.  Wrote Cousins, Kinship, AJ Jacobs and King David and set it for later.

*  Got distracted about noontime when Charlie was due, and received a picture about two hours later from James.  Wrote the two Saturday posts, and answered email, and then posted notes and pictures of Charlie on Facebook.  Didn't get a lot done!

*  Went in at 5 p.m. to watch TV news, ate dinner, then tried to empty the washing machine - it stopped working on Thursday, the draining of the water after the Rinse isn't happening.  Probably a valve or motor problem.

*  Online at 6 p.m. to write A New Leaf on Our Family Tree - Charlie is Here!

*  Went in to watch the Padres game, read the paper and then my book, and washed dishes.  Padres won 6-5 over D-backs.

*  Online at 9:45 p.m. to read, check Facebook, add to the Best Of post, and write this post.  Genealogy today was 8.5 hours.

My Geneaholic Thursday - 11 September 2014

Nothing unusual happened on this September 11, the 13th anniversary of the 2001 terrorist attacks.  It was also the 127th wedding anniversary of my great-grandparents, Henry Austin Carringer and Della Smith, and the 77th wedding anniversary of my wife's parents, Lee S. Leland and Edna Schaffner.
I stayed home all day with my shirt off and tried to stay cool, but failed.  didn't doze off, though!

*  Read email and blogs, then wrote Treasure Chest Thursday - Post 231: Birth Records for Children of Nathan and Abigail (Knowlton) Gates in Gardner, Mass.

*  Added a bunch of content and sources to the database from the Massachusetts Mason Cards, great resource!  Answered email and added to the Best Of post.  Made some blog comments too.

*  Wrote Remembering 9-11 - 13 Years After, and then Mining the Massachusetts, Mason Membership Cards Collection on Ancestry.com.

*  Wrote five posts on the Chula Vista Genealogy Cafe blog.

*  Went in at 5:45 p.m. to watch TV news, eat dinner, water the front yard, and try to deal with the washing machine problem.  Fail - it's full of water and won't do anything.  Drat.  We had to twist the water out of the big towels. They still required two dryer cycles.

*  Online at 6;30 p.m. to read, check Facebook, then wrote the 52 Ancestor post for Friday.  Had it mostly done last week.  Then worked in Ancestry.com in the database on Hat to Haw surnames.

*  Added to the Best Of post, and wrote this post.  Genealogy today was 12.0 hours.

My Geneaholic Wednesday - 10 September 2014

This was another full genealogy day, but not in the evening.  Assuming something untoward doesn't happen on 9/11/14, Thursday should be a really full genealogy day since the Padres won't be playing.

*  Had a terrible night's sleep and up at 7:15 a.m.  Read email and blogs, then wrote Aunt Marion visits San Diego -- Post 324 for (Not So) Wordless Wednesday and One Lovely Blog Award and set it for later.

*  Gathered the laptop and tablet and left at 11 a.m. for McDonalds for lunch, then to the library to visit John'as group and then got set up for the CVGS Research Group meeting.  That went well with 21 in attendance.  I checked two books out for my evening reading, and was home by 2:45 p.m.  Very sleepy!

*  Read, then wrote A.J. Jacobs Cousin Connections - Um, Not Really, added to the Best Of post, answered email, and then went in for dinner at 5:15 p.m.  Watched TV news, read the paper, put out the trash, then watched Obama's ISIS speech, and ducked back to read and check Facebook.

*  Went in at 7:15 p.m. to watch the Padres game and read my book.  Pads lost to the Dodgers 4-0.  I will guarantee they won't lose on Thursday - it's a day off.

*  Online at 10 p.m. to read, and write this post.  Genealogy today was 7.5 hours.

My Geneaholic Tuesday - 9 September 2014

It was an all-day genealogy day, until the evening, when the Padres won for the first time in a week.  Life is good!

*  Read email and blogs, wrote Technology Tuesday - Ancestry.com Updated Mobile App - Hints and then Virtual Institute of Genealogical Research to Offer Unique Opportunities in Genealogical Education.

*  Answered email, then worked on the Asa Seaver problem for several hours.  Finally wrote Down the Rabbit Trail - the Asa Seaver (1797-????) Family.

*  Found an Indiana Seaver marriage on FamilySearch which led me to a whole new Seaver line back into Kentucky and Virginia, so I added it to the database.

*  Went in to watch TV news at 6 p.m., ate dinner, and watered the front yard.  Watched the Padres game while reading my CJ Box book.  Pads won 6-3.  Now 67-77, need to win 14 of 18 to end up at .500.

*  Online at 10:15 p.m. to read, add to the Best Of post, check Facebook, and write this post.  Genealogy today was 9.5 hours.

My Geneaholic Monday - 8 September 2014

This was a very good genealogy day until 7 p.m., then the Pads and Chargers both lost.  Drat!

*  Read email and blogs, and noted that Amanuensis Monday - Post 234: 1929 Hearing and Decree in Devier J. Smith Probate File in Red Willow County, Nebraska posted.

*  Joined Mondays With Myrt and shared a bit about the Dorothy and Denmark Crowdsourcing effort, the FHISO group and source citations, and the Genealogy Rockstar voting.

*  Wrote and posted 2015 FGS Conference Special Early-Bird Price Ends September 12th and wrote 2014 Genealogy Rockstars Voting is Open! and set it for later.

*  Printed off the CVGS newsletter master and the mail labels, and went to the UPS Store to print the newsletter, and send them.  Took 30 minutes.

*  Worked in Ancestry.com in the Has surnames in the database and noticed that there were no suggested records.  Strange.  did more checking and I have none at all...so I wrote What Happened to the "Suggested Records" on Ancestry.com?  8 hours later I still don't have them, but some on Facebook say they have them.  I expect an email from Ancestry on Tuesday.

*  Went in at 5:15 p.m. to watch TV news, read the paper and eat dinner.  Online at 6 p.m. to read, add to the Best Of post, and do more database work.  Only added 20 sources today - got wrapped around several research problems.

*  Went in at 7:10 p.m. to watch the Chargers game and the Padres game, switching off but mainly on the football game.  Padres lost 9-4 to Dodgers, so 6 straight losses, and now 66-77.  Chargers lost 18-17 to Cardinals in the 4th period.  Too many mistakes on offense, poor pass protection and run blocking,  and not enough pass rush.  Like the DBs though, and the linebackers were pretty active.

*  Online at 10:30 p.m. to read, check Facebook, and wrote this post.  Genealogy today was 9.5 hours.

My Geneaholic Sunday - 7 September 2014

Finally...pro football games that count!  And I got some research done today.

*  Read email and blogs, then finished up the  Best of the Genea-Blogs - 31 August to 6 September 2014 post.

*  We went off to church at 9:30 a.m., and home by 11:30.  I watched football for awhile, then online to work on my research tables and answer email until 1 p.m. when I went in to watch the Padres game.

*  Read the paper, took a nap, and got bored by Padres game at 3 p.m., so did some online research in the Ha names.  Started the next Best Of post.

*  Went in at 5 p.m. to eat dinner, then watered the front yard, and watched more football.

*  Online at 6 p.m. to finish up the CVGS newsletter and sent it out to email group, and sent the research tables to Gary and Susi.  Wrote the Amanuensis Monday post, then worked in the database some more.  Got through the Harris surnames.  Have 53,766 sources now.

*  Checked Facebook, added to the Best Of post, and wrote this post. Genealogy today was 7.0 hours.

My Semi-Geneaholic Saturday - 6 September 2014

Well, I missed the SCGS webinar - completely forgot about it...but I did go to the CVGS workshop, and did watch my Aztecs lose, and my Padres lose.  I didn't do any genealogy research, or blogging, either.  What a frustrating night.

*  Read email and blogs in a hurry, and left at 7:45 a.m. for Marie Callender's for the men's breakfast.  I love bacon and eggs!  We talked about the book Generations afterwards.

*  Home by 10 a.m. to note that Surname Saturday - RUSSELL (England to colonial Massachusetts) posted.   Worked on the CVGS Newsletter and got it finished, I think.

*  Went off at 12 noon for Bonita and the CVGS workshop.  Took the laptop, and read blogs, email and Facebook, and loaded the latest RootsMagic file and resolved all of the media.  Got to talk a bit about my forms, but they had them from 2003.  I need to send them the 2014 version.

*  Home by 3 p.m. to read, note that Saturday Night Genealogy Fun - Your Best Genea-Prize in August 2014 posted, and  then worked in the FamilySearch Family Tree using RootsMagic to match persons in James' tree.

*  Went in at 5 p.m. to eat dinner, watch the Aztecs game, and then the Padres game - flipping between them.  Aztecs led 14-7 at the half, and 21-7 early in the 3rd, but lost 31-27 to North Carolina because of interceptions and a defensive breakdown.  Padres lost 7-6 to Rockies in 12 innings after being down 4-0 and 6-2.  Now 66-75.

*  Online to check mail and blogs, added to the Best Of post, checked Facebook.  Genealogy today was 5.0 hours.

My Genealogy Thursday and Friday - 4 and 5 September 2014

Still not much research done, feel like i'm slacking off, but have to work the blog posts around the Padres games.

1)  Thursday, 4 September:  Happy birthday, brother Stan is 68 today!

*  Read email and blogs, then wrote Treasure Chest Thursday - Post 230: 1851 Canada West Census Record for Mulford Putman Household.

*  Dorothy called at about 10 a.m. asking for help with her Danish ancestors.  I made some notes, and checked some sites, and then emailed her after an hour with information.  Put it all in Help Me CrowdSource Dorothy's Denmark Question - Updated - maybe someone else has better information for her.

*  Worked on the 52 Ancestors post for #43 for Friday.  Then worked on the week after - added some land sources and fixed the notes for #44.

*  Worked on the CVGS newsletter, got it about 30% done.

*  We left at 3:50 p.m. for the trolley station, then to Tin Fish for dinner, and in Petco Park by 5:40 p.m. for the Padres game.  Concession stands closed on our side - had to go down to 208 to get my ice cream cone.  Pads lost 5-1 in a game that wasn't that close.  Pads can't hit...

*  Home by 10:15 p.m. to read, add to the Best Of and FGS posts, and didn't journal.  Genealogy this day was 7.5 hours.

2)  Friday, 5 September:  still no grandson born...wonder when?

*  Read email and blogs, and noted that 52 Ancestors in 52 Weeks - Week 36: #43 Rebecca (Hill) Rich (1790-1862) posted.

*  Updated the Danish post, and added to the Best Of and FGS posts.  Answered some email too.

*  Worked a bit in my FindMyPast family tree and wrote Family Trees on FindMyPast.com - Post 5: Search Results Are Improved, and Images Can Be Attached.

*  Wrote the two Saturday posts.

*  Worked more on the CVGS newsletter.  Went in for dinner at 5 p.m. and watched TV news, then out to cut rose bushes back and weed a bit.  Came in at 6:30 p.m. to find Padres game in 4th inning.  We lost to Colorado 3-0.  Pads still in a slump.  Drat.  No 66-74.

*  Online at 8 p.m. to read, answer email, and work on the CVGS newsletter.  Got it about 90% done.
*  Read, added to the Best Of post, and wrote this post.  Genealogy today was 9.5 hours.

My Geneaholic Wednesday - 3 September 2014

This was a busy genealogy day, but I did absolutely no real research.  I had too many other tasks to work on.

*  Read email and blogs, then wrote Aunt Marion -- Post 323 for (Not So) Wordless Wednesday  and  RootsTech 2015 Registration is Open and set it for later.

*  Printed off the CVGS Bored meeting stuff and left at 11 a.m. for McDonalds for lunch, and then the library.  Bored meeting took two hours, my part was about 3 minutes.  Frustrated.

*  Home by 2:30 p.m. to read, write three Chula Vista Genealogy Cafe blog posts, and then wrote  Genealogy Source Citations and FHISO - A Simpler Proposal.

*  Went in at 5 p.m. to watch TV news, then ate dinner and watered the front yard.  Back online for awhile to read, then started the CVGS Newsletter.  Got it about 25% done.

*  Went in at 7:10 p.m. to watch the Padres game, read the paper and then the Brad Thor book.  Helped Linda with the tablet.  Pads lost 5-1 to D-backs, so now 66-72.

*  Online at 9:45 p.m. to read, add to the Best Of post, and wrote this post.  Genealogy today was 9.0 hours.

My Geneaholic Tuesday - 2 September 2014

This was a stay-at-home day, and I worked on genealogy all day, but don't have much to show for it.

*  Read email and blogs, then researched and wrote Technology Tuesday -- Updated Ancestry.com Mobile App.

*  Opened the database and found the Essex County, Mass. ancestors, and methodically went through them in AmericanAncestors.org for Essex County Probate Files.  Found 11 or 12 that I didn't have.  Captured them, renamed them, and added therm to the surname files.  Wrote Mining the Essex County, Massachusetts Probate Records on AmericanAncestors.org.

*  Added some of the Quaker record source images to the database.  Wandered around in FamilySearch records for awhile.  Checked Facebook and added to the Best Of and FGS blog posts.

*  Went in at 4:30 p.m. to watch TV, took a nap, and read the paper.  We ate dinner, watered the front yard, and watched the Padres game.  Read my Brad Thor book.  Pads won 2-1 over D-backs in the 9th.  Now 66-71 on the season.

*  Online at 9:45 p.m. to read, check Facebook, and write this post.  Genealogy today was 8.0 hours.

My Semi-Geneaholic Monday - 1 September 2014

I did genealogy stuff in the morning and the evening, but we were out for the afternoon.

*  Read email and blogs, noted that Amanuensis Monday - Post 233: More Papers in 1929 Devier J. Smith Probate File in Red Willow County, Nebraska  posted.

*  Got on the Mondays With Myert panel and we had a good discussion on many subjects.  I shared the Record Hints on the Descendancy View, and mentioned the FGS blog compendium.

*  Added to the Best Of and FGS blog posts.  We left at 12 noon for Petco Park, were in our seats at 12:45 p.m.  Padres won 3-1 over D-backs.  Got the 4:30 trolley back, and had dinner at Black Angus, then stopped at Cold Stone for ice cream.  Home by 6:45 p.m.

*  Watched TV news for a bit, then online to read, note that Labor Day - "There are things that happen in a second that take a lifetime to explain" posted.

*  Wrote a post for Tuesday morning on Ancestry.com app.  Checked Facebook.  Answered some emails.  Wrote this post.  Genealogy today was 6.5 hours.
