My Genealogy Sunday and Monday - 26-27 February 2017

These were rainy and cool days.  It rained all day Monday and we had over 2 inches.  The local rivers are near flood stage.

1)  Sunday, 26 February 2017:

*  Read email and blogs, took Linda to church at 8:30, picked her up at 9:45 and we left at 10:15 a.m. for Carlsbad to see Tami and the kids.  We had lunch at Ruby's Diner, and gave Lauren her birthday gift.  We took pictures outside too.

*  Home by 1:15 p.m., I noted that Best of the Genea-Blogs - 19 to 25 February 2017 posted.  Took a nap in the recliner and watched TV.

*  Online at 4 p.m. to read, then worked on the probate record transcription.  Did one, and found I'd already posted it.  Hate it when that happens.  Found another and did two of 8 documents.

*  Went in at 5 p.m. to eat dinner, read the paper, watch TV and wash dishes.

*  Online at 6:30 p.m. to note that Added or Updated Databases at Ancestry.com - Week of 19 to 25 February 2017 posted, then wrote the Amanuensis Monday post and posted it by mistake.

*  Updated the RootsTech post, and forgot to journal.  Genealogy this day was 4.5 hours.

2)  Monday, 27 February 2017:

*  Didn't take Linda to the Y because of the rain, read email and blogs, noted that Added or Updated Record Collections at FamilySearch.org - Week of 19 to 25 February 2017 posted, and Amanuensis Monday -- 1761 Probate Records of Thomas Dill (1708-1761) Estate in Barnstable County, Massachusetts too.

*  Joined Mondays With Myrt and got to talk about Ancestry Trees for hints and cousin bait.  Afterwards, worked on the Search presentation.

*  Had lunch, added to the Best Of post, and took my nap.

*  Online at 2 p.m. to read, worked in the Ancestry Member Tree trying to remember how I found a married name so I could use it on Saturday.  Watched some YouTube videos from RootsTech.

*  Wrote What Are the Most Popular Databases on Ancestry.com? and checked Facebook.  Worked a bit in FamilySearch Family Tree.

*  Went in at 5 p.m. for dinner, read the paper, watched TV news, and washed dishes.

*  Online at 6:30 p.m. to read, look for and modify my elusive ancestor charts, wrote the Treasure Chest Tuesday post, and then resolved over 200 Ancestry Hints.

*  Wrote this post.  Genealogy today was 9.5 hours.

*  Dropped Linda off, home to read email and blogs, picked her up, home to print off the SDGS RMUG questions, and left at 9:30 a.m. for the San Diego FamilySearch Library for the 10:30 meeting.

*  We had 8 at the meeting and discussed a number of RootsMagic topics.

*  Home by 12:30 p.m. to eat lunch, go online to note that Surname Saturday -- SOULE (England to colonial New England) and Saturday Night Genealogy Fun - Who is Your "Bad Behavior" Relative? posted.  Took a nap in the recliner.

*  Online at 2 p.m. to read, add to the Best Of and RootsTech posts, then wrote the Ancestry and FamilySearch posts for the weekend.

*  Worked in FamilySearch Family Tree on some of the Dill families, matching my RootsMagic persons to FSFT profiles and adding content and standard places to FSFT, and occasionally adding dates and places to my RootsMagic file.

*  Went in at 5:30 p.m. to watch the Aztecs game, ate dinner, read the paper, and washed dishes.  Aztecs lost to Colorado State 54-53 on a last second shot.  Crap.  Still 6th place.

*  Dropped Linda at the Y, home to read email and blogs, then picked her up at 9 a.m. and then to the grocery store.

My Genealogy Sunday and Monday - 5-6 February 2017

Well, I watched the Super Bowl Sunday and goofed off a bit on Monday.

By the way, this blog will be dark until next Monday - we're off to RootsTech on Tuesday.

1)  Sunday, 5 February:

*  Read email and blogs while watching Meet the Depressed, then off to church at 9:40 and home by 11:20.

*  Finished up the Best of the Genea-Blogs -- 29 January to 4 February 2017 post.  Transcribed the probate record for Amanuensis Monday.  Had lunch, then wrote the Amanuensis post.

*  Went in at 3 p.m. to watch the Super bowl pre-game, and dozed a bit in the recliner.  Awake for the kickoff and the game.  The commercials were pretty bad this year.  The halftime show was pretty good - loved the drones and the flying Gaga.  Was happy the Falcons were going to win until they didn't.  Had the premonition of the outcome late in the third period.  Falcons looked like the Chargers did all year.

*  Online at 8 p.m. to read, noted that Added or Updated Databases at Ancestry.com - Week of 29 January to 4 February 2017 posted.  Finished up the CVGS newsletter and emailed it out.  New printer ink cartridge solved the printing problem, whew!

*  Checked Facebook, answered email, and didn't journal.  Genealogy this day was 5.0 hours.

2)  Monday, 6 February:

*  Dropped Linda off, home to read email and blogs, picked her up, and joined Mondays With Myrt.  Didn't share much because they were at the FHL talking to visitors.

*  Noted that Added or Updated Record Collections at FamilySearch.org - Week of 29 January to 4 February 2017 and Amanuensis Monday -- 1724 Will of Jonathan Hubburd (1659-1728) of Concord, Mass. and wrote Family History Library Unveils Salt Lake City’s Newest Attraction.  Had lunch, and wrote a blog post for Tuesday.

*  Printed off the newsletter master and the mail list, and off to the UPS Store - got the issue mailed, and home by 2 p.m.

*  Wrote another Tuesday blog post, took a nap, then we went to the neighbors to ask them to take in our mail.  Talked for an hour, then home for dinner, watching TV and reading the paper.

*  Online at 7 p.m. to read, then wrote a Wednesday post, and added to the Best Of post.  Answered email, and checked Facebook.  Packed for the trip.  Copied stuff to my flash drive and got everything but my phone and charger in the laptop case.  Wrote this post.  Genealogy today was 8.5 hours.

My Genealogy Saturday - 4 February 2017

Three more getups and only two days to get ready to go to RootsTech. Didn't sleep well again - always tired.  I got quite a bit done today, actually.

*  Dropped Linda off, home to read, then off at 7:45 for Marie Callenders for breakfast with the men's group, picked Linda up and we were home by 9:45 a.m.

*  Noted that Surname Saturday -- RICHMOND (Wiltshire to colonial New England) posted, and rested my eyes.  Had lunch.

*  Left at 12:40 for Bonita library and the CVGS workshop.  Susi did MyHeritage and Shirley helped.  I kibitzed a bit when asked.  Noted that Saturday Night Genealogy Fun -- The Facebook Meme posted.  Read email and blogs too.  Added to the Best Of post.  Got the MyHeritage stuff onto the laptop from Dropbox.

*  Home by 3:30 p.m. to read, check Facebook, and took a real nap, then online at 4:30 p.m. to write the Ancestry and FamilySearch posts.  Wrote a post for Tuesday also.

*  Updated the To Do List file and copied pages to work on.  Printer giving me problems - the black is not printing consistently.  Have cleaned printheads four times, and turned it off/on per directions.  Worked fine the last time.

*  Went in at 5:30 p.m. for dinner, read the paper, and washed dishes.

*  Online at 7 p.m. to work on the CVGS Newsletter - got it done and sent it to the proofers.  Added to the Best Of post, and answered email.  Wrote this post.  Genealogy today was 7.0 hours.

My Genealogy Friday - 3 February 2017

I didn't get as much done as I hoped today.  Drat.  I've figured out that I'm not going to write the theme posts for most of next week when I'm at RootsTech.  i'm out of time - it's more important to create a to-do list for my limited FHL time than do the theme posts.  They can wait a week.

*  Dropped Linda at the Y, home to read email and blogs, picked her up and home by 9:15 a.m.

*  Noted that 52 Ancestors - Week 162: #227 Anna Martha (Nachbar) Trimmer (1724-????) of New Jersey posted, and wrote SCGS Genealogy Jamboree 2017 Registration is Open and New Records Available To Search This Findmypast Friday, 3 February 2017.

*  Took a 30 minute nap, had lunch, and online at 1 p.m. to read, had to clean the printer heads (couldn't recall how to do it - pressed Help on the printer), and researched and wrote This Week's We're Related Relationships - 3 February 2017.  Checked Facebook, added to the Best Of post, and answered email.
