Genea-Journal - Monday, 24 February 2020

Well, some tasks are not going to get done.  I'm going to concentrate on what needs to get done by Wednesday.  And tonight I forgot to write the morning blog post.  Oh well - time tomorrow.

*  Dropped Linda at the Y at 7:15, home to read, added to the Best Of post, and noted that   Amanuensis Monday - 1788 Will of John Richman (1724-1807) of Hilperton, Wiltshire posted.

*  Picked her up and home by 8:50 a.m.  got into Mondays With Myrt and was pretty quiet, but helped find URLs for the chat.

*  Added to the Best Of post, then took my nap.

*  Had lunch, then wrote Monday Genea-Pourri - Week Ending 24 February 2020.  Took the Lincoln for a drive, then walked a mile (thinking my feet will do better with some walking on them), and pulled weeds in the front yard.

*  Online at 3:15 p.m. to check Twitter and Facebook, then answered email.  Wrote directions for Lori.  Went in at 4:40 pm. to fix dinner, read the paper, eat, watch TV news, and do the dishes.

*  Online at 6:40 p.m. to add to the Best Of post, then worked on adding the three new ThruLines for my Richmans!  This is a big deal for me.  Now 4 ThruLines that share my new 4th great-grandparents John Richman and Mary Parsons.  Found some errors with same name, wrong spouse Richmans so fixed that in RootsMagic and Family Tree.  Added the 4 lines to Family Tree also.

*  Checked Facebook and wrote this post.  Genealogy today was 9.0 hours.

Genea-Journal - Sunday, 23 February 2020

It sure sneaks up on you, doesn't it?  Three more get-ups and i'm off to Salt Lake City.  Still have handouts to download.  Still need to make info pages for daughter Lori about Linda's schedule.  Oh well, she can phone me.  If I have the phone on, of course.  A pretty nice day - even was outside for about an hour with my jacket on.

*  Read email and blogs, wrote the Amanuensis Monday post and off to church at 9:40 a.m.  Sermon was about turning water into wine.  Then we had sparkling water mixed with fruit juice out on the patio afterwards.  Folks stuck around and talked.  We went to the grocery store and home by 12 noon.

*  Online to read email and blogs, noted that Best of the Genea-Blogs - Week of 16 to 22 February 2020 posted.

*  Went in to have lunch - a bag of popcorn - and watched TV game shows, dozed in the recliner.

*  Online at 2 p.m. to write the 52 Ancestors post for next week and then CVGS Program on Wednesday, 26 February Features Patricia Diane Godinez and set it for later.  Also worked on Richman parish register data on Ancestry.

*  Went out at 4:30 p.m. to weed the fake grass - weeds pop up through it, and around the edges.  Need to get some Roundup to stifle the growth.  Talked to Frank about the neighborhood.

*  Went in at 5:15 p.m. to make dinner, we ate, watched TV news, and read the paper.  Barbara and Joan brought cookies, and we talked to them out on the driveway for 15 minutes.  Came back in and did the dishes.  Had some cookies too.

*  Online at 7 p.m. to read, add to the Best Of post, resolve 187 Ancestry Hints, and TreeShared 49 profiles.  I'm up to date on my Ancestry tree again.

*  Checked Facebook, answered email and wrote this post.  Genealogy today was 6.0 hours.

Genea-Journal - 8-9 February 2020

This was not a big genealogy weekend - we had a major emergency on Saturday and a road trip on Sunday.

1)  Saturday - 8 February:

*  Dropped Linda at the Y, home to read, noted that Added and Updated Record Collections at FamilySearch.org - Week of 2 to 8 February 2020 posted, and wrote the Ancestry post.

*  Picked Linda up, and home by 9:15.  Left at 9:20 a.m. for the SDGS meeting in San Diego.  Got there at 9:45 a.m., and talked to friends.  Laurice Johnson was the speaker on Facebook and other genealogy websites.  I left after intermission because I was sleepy.  Got home by 11:45 a.m. and added to the Best Of post, answered email and went in at 12:15 p.m. to doze in the recliner.

*  At 1 p.m. Linda got up from her recliner and did something that caused her to fall and hit the top of her head on the carpeted floor in the family room.  Called 911, and they sent firefighters to get her up and paramedics to examine her.  Her head hurt and she had a small goose egg.  She went in the ambulance to the hospital and I followed.  Got there by 1:40 p.m. and she got into a bed by 2 p.m.  They took blood, talked to her but she was confused so they talked to me, took her for a CT scan, got her hooked up to an ECG and vitals machine, and we waited for the doctor.  Around 4 p.m. they took her for a knee x-ray because she complained about her knee.  More waiting.  Finally at 5:30 p.m. the doctor came and gave her papers for her knee and to follow up with the PCP and the nurses got her up and on a wheelchair and I picked her up after a four block walk to where I parked the car.  We were home by 6 p.m. and I fixed a quick dinner.

*  Online at 7 p.m. to read, then noted that Saturday Night Genealogy Fun - Top 20 Surnames In Your Family Tree and Added and Updated Ancestry.com Record Collections - Week of 2 to 8 February 2020 posted.

*  Worked on and finished the CVGS newsletter draft and sent it to the reviewers.  Checked Facebook and called it a night at 9 p.m.  Genealogy this day was 5.0 hours.

2)  Sunday - 9 February:

*  Read email and blogs, finalized the Best Of post, and wrote the Amanuensis Monday post.

*  We left for Tami's in Huntington Beach at 9:40 a.m. and got there by 12 noon after stopping at In 'n' Out for lunch.  Sat around until 1:20 when we left for the Boys and Girls Club for Lauren's play - she was Lord Farquaard in Shrek.  She did a great acting job - really loved the villain part.  We came back to Tami's house and had dinner and left at 6:30.  It was an easy ride home - no stopping, a little rain, and home by 8:10 p.m.

*  Online to add to the Best Of post, noted that Best of the Genea-Blogs - 2 to 8 February 2020 posted, checked Facebook, and TreeShared 50 profiles to the Ancestry Member Tree.
