11 months down, one to go in 2018. This was a rainy day in the morning and cleared in the afternoon. We got over 0.5 inches of rain, so we're almost "normal" on the year (since 1 October).
* Linda didn't go to the Y, so I read email and blogs, added to the Best Of post, noted that 52 Ancestors - Week 254: #379 Judith (Greenman) Card (1694-1786) of Rhode Island posted, and answered email. Wrote New Records Available To Search this Findmypast Friday, 30 November 2018.
* Worked in MyHeritageDNA matches adding notes to about 15 matches, identifying the matching chromosomes, and common ancestors if I could find them easily. Took a short nap.
* Had lunch, went to the grocery store, then online to match profiles to Family Tree, then wrote Genealogy News Bytes - 30 November 2018.
* Checked Twitter and Facebook. Deleted hundreds of old emails, especially if they contained attachments. My Google Drive is 98% full. Will probably opt for the 100 gb deal. In hindsight, probably should have retained the emails! Too late I think. Took a short nap. Wrote the Surname Saturday post.
* Went in at 5 p.m. to eat dinner, read the paper, watch TV news, and wash dishes.
* Online at 6:30 p.m. to read, wrote the SNGF post. Resolved about 250 Ancestry Hints, and TreeShared 140 RootsMagic profiles, have about 130 to go.
* Added to the Best Of post, answered email, checked Facebook, and wrote this post. Genealogy today was 10.0 hours.

Genea-Journal - Thursday, 29 November 2018
Rain. blessed rain. all day. Hardest in afternoon. Back yard is full, now weeds will grow great! Crap. We needed the rain - makes the wildfire threat go away.
* Did not take Linda to the Y because of the rain. Read email and blogs, added to the Best Of post, and noted that 1830 U.S. Census Record for Isaac Buck Household in Sterling, Mass. -- Post 439 for Treasure Chest Thursday posted.
* Decided to put all of the CVGS files on the CVGS blog Google Drive rather than the Randy Google Drive, trying to reclaim space on the Randy drive. Started the process around 9 a.m., then recalled that I wouldn't be able to blog on Genea-Musings since I was on the other Google account. Oh well, wrote three posts for the CVGS Genealogy Cafe blog instead. Found five obituaries and death notices and added them to the RootsMagic tree. This took 5 hours and ended around 2 p.m. for only 1.19 gb of 2,000 files. A lesson here - do this overnight next time!
* Took a nap, had lunch, and whined on Facebook while the above was happening.
* At 2 p.m., wrote the Seavers in the News -- Lester P. Seaver Dies in Moline, Illinois in 1950 post. Added to the Best Of post. Checked Facebook and Twitter. Started looking at the 52 Ancestors profile. Answered email.
* Went in at 5 p.m. to eat dinner, watch TV news, read the paper, and wash dishes. Online at 6:30 p.m. to read, wrote the 52 Ancestors post, and resolved about 230 Ancestry Hints, adding content and sources to RootsMagic. Got through the last day of Hints!

Genea-Journal - Tuesday, 27 November 2018
Had a pretty good nights sleep - that was great because I had to drive a bit today.
* Did not take Linda to the Y, read email and blogs before I left at 8 a.m. for Carlsbad. Took 90 minutes to go the 43 miles, but only 25 minutes to go the last 25 miles. 60 minutes for 18 miles up to State 52 in stop and go the whole way.
* Got to the City Council chambers by 9:30 a.m. and got set up, talked to several friends, and the meeting started at 10 a.m. I started my "Discovering George W. Seaver's Life Story" presentation at about 10:20 and it went well - they like Case Studies. I threw in some charts about Descendancy Research too. Headed home at 11:30 a.m. and got home at 12:30.
* Had lunch, added to the Best Of post, and noted that Treasure Chest Tuesday -- 1904 Death Notice for Mrs. Dora (--?--) Schaffner in San Francisco, California posted. Wrote Genealogy News Bytes - 27 November 2018 and set it for later.
* Took a nap in the recliner. Checked Facebook and Twitter. Went in at 5:30 p.m. for dinner, watched TV news, read the paper and washed dishes.
* Online at 7 p.m. to add to the Best Of post, then wrote the Wordless Wednesday post, and worked in the database adding sources and content for Seaver folks using Web Hints.
* Answered email, checked Facebook, and wrote this post. Genealogy today was 7.5 hours.

These were not really big genealogy days because of football and family and church.
1) Saturday, 24 November:

Checked Facebook, added to the Best Of post, answered email, and went in at 7:30 p.m. to watch the Aztecs game. Read the paper and my book. * Online at halftime to read, check Facebook and Twitter, and then went back to watch the end of the game. Watered the front plants, and got a little sun in back.
* Went in at 5:30 p.m. for dinner, watched the football game, read the paper, washed dishes.
* Online at 7 p.m. to read, wrote the Treasure Chest post. While saving the death notice, I managed to move all of my Ancestor Files folder to another subfolder somehow. Sometimes I don't click well. It took at least 30 minutes to find the damn thing. Found it and put it back where it belongs. Whew!
* TreeShared 125 profiles in RootsMagic including all of the new profiles. Still have 150 to do.
* Added to the Best Of post. Wrote this post. Genealogy today was 8.0 hours.

My Genea-Weekend - 17-18 November 2018
It's Thanksgiving week! Where did the month go? It was a woeful football weekend here in San Diego, as the Aztecs and Chargers both lost. Oh well, the weather was nice! Had a lamp in the genea-cave go out on Saturday morning. Not the bulb.
1) Saturday, 17 November:
* Dropped Linda at the Y, then to my Bible study breakfast, picked her up at 9:40 a.m. and stopped at Wal-Mart to get a lamp. Home by 10:15 and hooked up the lamp. Didn't work. Took it to another outlet and it worked - so did the one I had before. The outlet socket is bad now. Oh well - now have two good desk lamps. Need another desk now.
* Noted that Surname Saturday -- MORSE (England to colonial New England) posted. Added to the Best Of post. Found some Seaver folks not in the database on GenealogyBank so added that family line.
* Went in at 12 noon for lunch, watched football and tried to doze, but failed. Read the paper.
* Online at 2:30 p.m. to read, noted that Saturday Night Genealogy Fun - What Genealogy Resource Are You Thankful For? posted. Wrote the FamilySearch and Ancestry posts.
* Did more Seaver research on another new-to-me family and added them to the database. The more I seek the more I find!
* Went in at 5 p.m. to eat dinner, watch football, and wash dishes.
* Online at 6 p.m. to note that Added or Updated Record Collections at FamilySearch.org - Week of 11 to 17 November 2018 posted, then resolved about 200 Ancestry Hints, adding content and sources to the database.
* Went in at 7:30 p.m. to watch the Aztecs game - they lost to Fresno State 23-14, so now 7-4 and won't be conference champion. Hope sprung eternal again, but reality wins every time.
* Checked Facebook, added to the Best Of post before bed at 11 p.m. Genealogy this day was about 5.0 hours.
2) Sunday, 18 November:
* Read email and blogs, noted that Added and Updated Ancestry.com Record Collections - Week of 11 to 17 November 2018 posted. Transcribed the deed for Amanuensis Monday.
* Off to church at 9:30 a.m. and home by 11:15. Finished up the Amanuensis Monday post and went in at 12 noon to eat lunch and watch football. Read the paper, had lunch, tried to doze but failed. Watched the Chargers game. They snatched defeat from the jaws of victory again, 23-22 losing to Denver in the final 5 seconds. Online to read for awhile.
* Went in at 5 p.m. for dinner, watched TV news, and washed dishes.
* Online at 6 p.m. to read, note that Best of the Genea-Blogs - Week of 11 to 17 November 2018 posted. Resolved over 600 Ancestry Hints adding content and sources for some of them to the database. I need to TreeShare soon!
* Checked Facebook, answered email, and wrote this post. Genealogy today was 4.0 hours.

My Genea-Monday - 12 November 2018
This was an all-genealogy day here in the Cave. I didn't advance the ball very much, though. Oh well. 49 days left in 2018.
* Dropped Linda off, home to read, picked her up and home by 9 a.m.

* Wrote Good News and Bad News On Ancestry Member Tree Searches and had lunch. Wrote Monday Genea-Pourri - 12 November 2018 and set it for later.
* Looked at my new MyHeritageDNA matches but didn't find any new common ancestors. The trees of the matches aren't leafy enough, so perhaps I'll do some skeleton work on them too. Checked Twitter and Facebook. Took a nap.
* Online at 4 p.m. to read, then worked a bit in Family Tree. Went in at 5:15 for dinner, read the paper, watched news, and washed dishes.
* Online at 6:30 p.m. to read, add to the Best Of post, write the Treasure Chest post, added some Family labels to the blog and worked through 100 Amanuensis posts, and then worked in Web Hints for Dill families. Didn't find much.
* Checked Facebook, and wrote this post. Genealogy today was 10.0 hours. See, not much progress here!

My Genea-Thursday - 8 November 2018
This was a stay-at-home genealogy day, and I made progress, but spent some enjoyable time just browsing and reading.
* Dropped Linda at the Y, home to read blogs and email, picked her up, and we went to the grocery store. Home by 9:40 a.m.
* Noted that 1703 Birth Record of Jonas Prescott (1703-1784) in Groton, Massachusetts - Post 437 for Treasure Chest Thursday posted and added to the Best Of post. Wrote Free Access on 9th to 12th November for Findmypast Record Collections and Newspapers.
* Searched for useful articles for Seavers in the News and found quite a few. Added data to some Seaver profiles, and matched some to Family Tree.
* Had lunch, then wrote Seavers in the News -- Brigadier Florence Seaver Dies in Asbury Park, N.J. in 1964 and set it for later.
* Puttered about in the database, matching profiles to Family Tree, searching for records using web hints, and then did a Skeleton tree for one of my matches. Another failure. Frustrating. Perhaps some "potentials" are wrong.
* Checked Twitter and Facebook, then worked on the 52 Ancestors profile. Rested my eyes for 30 minutes. Found some land records that helped in Charlestown, but FamilySearch doesn't have home access to Westerly or South Kingstown RI. Drat. Added them to the to-do list.
* Went in at 5:15 p.m. for dinner, read the paper, watched TV news, and cleaned up.
* Online at 6:30 p.m. to work on the 52 Ancestors post, then wrote it for Friday. Worked for about an hour on the CVGS Newsletter - about 60% done.
* Added to the Best Of post, answered email, and done! Genealogy today was 9.0 hours.

Randy's Genea-Saturday - 3 November 2018
This was a tiring day - mainly because I didn't sleep long enough overnight. Only 6 hours and I need at least 7 to get through the day without dozing off.
* Dropped Linda at the Y, home to put the laundry in the dryer at 7:40, then off to Marie Callenders for the mens group breakfast, then picked Linda up and we were home by 10 a.m.
* Noted that Surname Saturday - LNU (Hannah, who married Thomas Bartlett) (England to colonial New England) posted, then wrote the weekly FamilySearch and Ancestry posts.
* Went in to watch TV and dozed in the recliner. Had lunch at 12 noon.
* Gathered up the laptop, the flash drive and off to the CVGS Workshop where I presented the Digital Microfilm talk. We had only 12 there. All of the research problems were not defined enough to be able to use digital microfilm. Best laid plans, etc.
* Home by 3:30 p.m. and really tired. Noted that Saturday Night Genealogy Fun -- Your Zigzag Ancestor Lines posted. Added to the Best Of post, answered email, and tried to work in Family Tree matching but too tired. Went in to help Linda with dinner at 5 p.m. and we ate.
* Watched the Alabama game, read the paper, did the dishes, and read my book. Watched the Aztecs game starting at 7:15. They came from behind to beat New Mexico 31-23, so now 7-2 on the season.
* Changed the clocks, and ready for bed at 10 p.m. standard time. Added to the Best Of post, checked Facebook, and wrote this post. Genealogy today was 5.0 hours.

Randy's Genea-Thursday - 1 November 2018
The first day of November was a warm day here in San Diego with a beautiful red sunset. Genealogy research continued today.
* Dropped Linda off, home to read, picked her up and we went to the grocery store. Home ny 9:45 a.m.
* Added to the Best Of post, noted that 1717 Birth of Renewed Smith in North Kingstown, R.I. - Post 436 for Treasure Chest Thursday posted, and searched Newspapers.com for a Seaver obituary. Resed my eyes for 30 minutes.
* Up by 11:30 a.m. to go to lunch with Linda to meet Gil and Lynda at Olive Garden. Nice lunch, but Linda was very upset with her food - she could have virtually nothing on the menu, then didn't like the compromise because she couldn't get cheese on her food. Very frustrating for her.
* Home by 1:50 p.m. to read, then wrote Seavers in the News -- George H. Seaver Dies in 1962 in San Rafael, California. Very tired, so went in at 3 p.m. to nap in the recliner.
* Online at 4 p.m. to check Twitter and Facebook, added to the Best Of post.
* Went in at 5:15 to eat dinner, watch TV news, read the paper, water the front plants and wash dishes.
* Online at 6:430 to work on the 52 Ancestors post, then resolved about 250 Ancestry Hints - mainly generated by the last TreeShare. Checked Facebook. Answered email. Wrote this post. Genealogy today was 6.0 hours.
