My genealogy day - 31 August 2011

Eight months down, four to go in 2011.  The days seem to fly by.

*  Read email and blogs, then wrote (Not So) Wordless Wednesday - Post 168: Bess and Gerry at the Train Station.

*  Worked in Earthpoint and Google Earth to find exact locations of Natvig and Leland farms in Dane County, then wrote Planning for my visit to Dane County, Wisconsin.

*  Took my affidavit to AAA to get it notarized, then to McDonalds for lunch, the bank for money, the library for a book, and home.

*  Wrote Genealogy Days in Chula Vista - September 2011 and "Research Methods in Pennsylvania" on Saturday, 3 September at Bonita Library.

*  Worked on my source reference list for the Seaver side - got through A to D in about two hours.

*  Got email from Max and wrote Story: Family Tree DNA confirms two NFL players are half-siblings.

*  Went in at 5 p.m. to read the paper, watch TV, eat dinner, put the trash out, and pull weeds.  My exercise!

*  Started in on the CVGS Newsletter - needs to go out on Saturday.  Got almost everything into it that was submitted, plus my own contributions from the blog.  About 70% done, I think.

*  Added to the Best Of blog, checked Facebook, talked to my daughter, and wrote this post.

My genealogy day - 30 August 2011

It was another stay-at-home fairly full genealogy day here at the G-Cave.

*  Read email and blogs, wrote Tuesday's Tip - Use Ancestry.com's Free Offerings.

*  Worked through one of the source lists adding items in Martin's book "New Englanders in the 1600s" and adding books and periodical articles that I've missed.  Found lots!  I'm glad I'm doing this!

*  Went into Geni.com and worked through more matches.  Got the list down to medieval England and stopped.  Had lunch, then wrote Merge Decisions in Geni.com - Got a Match!

*  Tried to find the Leland and Natvig homesteads on Dane County plat maps and on google Maps.  Found the two areas, but the houses are long gone, as are many of the roads.  It's still rural.  Printed them off.

*  Worked in FTM 2012 some more, and then wrote Dear Randy: Tell me about Syncing FTM 2012 and Ancestry.

*  Went in for dinner at 5:30 and then back online to read, check Facebook, update the vacation plans, and look for hotels in Fort Wayne.

*  Went in at 7 p.m. to watch the Padres game.  Dodgers scored 8 in the second inning, and hung on for an 8-5 win.  Didn't watch all of it - put folders on the USB drive and then onto the laptop.  Have most of the files updated on the laptop, and three folders are synced using SugarSync.

*  Added to the Best Of post, and wrote this post.

Genealogy today was 10.5 hours.

My genealogy day - 29 August 2011

It was a pretty full genealogy day without doing any research at all.  I didn't get much done on the trip planning either.  Drat.

*  Read email and blogs, then wrote Amanuensis Monday - the will of George Reed (1627-1706) of Woburn, Mass.

*  Worked in Geni.com for at least two hours not merging folks and wrote three discussions too on ancestors with errors.  Wrote Merge Decisions in Geni.com - No Match!

*  Found pages and info for the two libraries in Dodge County I want to visit.  Answered some email.  Added SugarSync to the laptop and figured out how to share files from the desktop to the laptop.  It worked!

*  Wrote Thinking About Software, Online Trees and Syncing.  Did some FTM 2012 sync work, then wrote New Features in Family Tree Maker 2012.

*  Went in at 5 p.m. to watch TV, eat dinner, water the plants and then Kurt came over.  I gave him the two passenger list records I found for him in 1939 and 1949.  Time for the Padres game, so read the paper, then a magazine and my book.  Pads lost 4-1 to Dodgers.  Drat - 5 straight losses, now 60-75, and buried in last place.

*  Online at 9:45 to read, add to the Best Of post, lament the things I didn't do today, recall that I need to do the CVGS newsletter by Saturday, check Facebook, and write this post.

Genealogy today was 9.5 hours.

My genealogy day - 28 August 2011

It wasn't much of a genealogy day until the evening.

*  Read email and blogs, and finished up the Best Of post.

*  Off to church at 9:15 for my committee meeting, then worship, and home by 11:30 a.m.

*  Got onto Scanfest and chatted and scanned about 20 images.  Had lunch, and noted that Best of the Genealogy Blogs - Week of 21-27 August 2011 posted.  The LLWS game lured me in early.

*  Watched the end of the LLWS, Huntington Beach beat Japan 2-1.  Then watched Padres lose to Snakes 6-1.  Arggh.  (now 60-74, lost 4 straight).  Managed to get a nap too.

*  Online for awhile to read, then went in for dinner at 4:45 p.m.

*  Online again at 5:15 p.m. to read, then write Serendipity strikes again...and genealogy fun ensues.

*  Started in on Find-a-Grave to get all Seaver entries in Massachusetts - got all but Hampden and Suffolk done.  Had about 80% of them in my database.

*  Started the next Best Of post, checked Facebook and Google Plus, and wrote this post.

Genealogy today was 7.0 hours.

My genealogy day - 27 August 2011

A little blogging, some source file listing, and some database entry.

*  Up early to go off to breakfast with Linda's swim club.

*  Home by 9 a.m. to read email and blogs, then wrote Surname Saturday - ALLEN (England > Massachusetts).  Wrote Saturday Night Genealogy Fun (SNGF) - Who is your genealogy model? and set it for later.

*  Read more, and posted Wow. Tears. Never again.  Heart-wrenching.

*  Listened to the last half hour of the MySociety Radio Show.  Went into watch the Little League World Series game - California won to get into the championship against Japan, who beat Mexicali.

*  Online at 2:30 p.m. to  read, then finished up the pile of "to-be-listed" papers, and sorted some folders out on the bookcases.  It looks a little neater, and I now have three piles - "to-be-entered," "to-be-filed" and "to =-be-saved."  The source lists are now 32 pages total (they started out at 21 pages).

*  Went in at 5 p.m. to read the paper, watch the Padres game (we lost to Arizona 3-1), eat dinner, water the front plants, water the back yard, and read my Coben book.

*  Online at 7:30 p.m. to read, work in Find-a-Grave and then CA Death Index adding data and sources, then added to the Best Of post, checked Facebook, and wrote this post.

Genealogy today was 8.5 hours.

My genealogy day - Friday, 26 August 2011

A little blogging, a little organizing, some reading, a long walk and a dinner out with friends highlighted my day.

*  Read email and blogs, wrote Follow Friday - Weekend Genealogy Fun.  Got cleaned up.

Wrote FGS 2011 Conference - my Friday, 9 September Selections.  Added some media to FTM 2012 and synced it with Ancestry.  Seemed to work.

*  Left at 11:15 p.m. for Costco for a Polish dog, then walked around, and picked up George at noon for our walk on the bayfront.

*  Home by 1 p.m. to read, then researched and wrote GEDCOM, Software, Online Trees and Syncing.

*  Started in on my stack of "to-be-filed" papers again, burned about 4 inches off the stack while sorting them and entering printed material into the two source lists.

*  Received email and wrote MyHeritage Hits 800 Million Profiles and Releases Family Graph API.  Made some grandkid pictures and we left at 5:50 p.m. for dinner with friends at Black Angus.

*  Home at 7:50 p.m. to tune into Geneabloggers Radio until 8:30, then went in to watch the end of the Padres game (we lost 5-0 to Snakes).

My genealogy day - 25 August 2011

I had a full genealogy day planned, and Linda messed it up.  But she's OK, I think.

*  Read email and blogs, then posted Treasure Chest Thursday - Jonathan Oatley's 1872 Death Certificate.  Got cleaned up.

*  Started in searching for Dane and Dodge County, Wisconsin information for the trip - found plat maps on Ancestry for Dane County, and found the Leland and Natvig families there.  Got out the Smith notebook and set the 1860 maps aside for scanning.  Found the cemetery with Mary Smith.  Found where newspapers in 1840 to 1870 might be.  Wrote Planning for my visit to Dodge County, Wisconsin.

*  Worked some more on the Madison area maps and stuff, printed off the WHS information.  Had lunch.  Answered several emails.  Read blogs and Google Plus. Checked out Ancestors Now site and commented on his post/

*  Linda had another pain in her right shoulder, so made appointment with doctor and we left at 4 p.m.  Got prescription at the pharmacy, and off to dinner at Oggis.  Stopped at Wal-Mart on the way home.  Home by 7 p.m. to read and she took her meds and immediately had a reaction.  Checked the med online and saw all kinds of side effects, one of which she had.  Seems to be OK now.

*  Tried to download FTM 2012 again, using Russ's links.  Signed up for Dropbox in the process.  Finally got it to install...have no clue why it wouldn't do it before.  Loaded in a GEDCOM and uploaded that tree to Ancestry.  Will work with it on Friday.

*  Added to the Best Of post, added some data to my RootsMagic database, checked in on Facebook and wrote this post.

*  didn't work at all on my source lists today - was going to do that tonight but life intervened.  Drat.

Genealogy today was 9.0 hours.

My genealogy days - 23 and 24 August 2011

These two days were fairly busy genealogy days as I feel the need to get ready for our trip to the Midwest in September.

1)  Tuesday, 23 August 2011:

*  Read email and blogs, then wrote Tuesday's Tip - Check out the BYU Family History Archives.  Worked a buit in Geni.com editing a profile, then adding a source and writing a discussion.  Wrote My Geni.com Experiences and set it for later in the morning.

*  Got cleaned up, and captured quite a few of the FGS syllabus chapters to the hard drive.  I can't recall what I else did until lunch (just have to write this journal on the day, not the next day!).

*  Had lunch, Wrote Trying to be a Good Geni.com Citizen.  Got the Seaver source list updated by going through the ancestral name list.  Took awhile - had to add more surnames than I thought I would...I've actually done some research on the Seaver side since 1998, I guess.

*  Went in at 5:15 p.m. to read the paper, and we had dinner.  Back online at 6 p.m. to do something...then the Padres game started at 7:15 p.m. so I watched that, finished the paper and finished my Lee Child book too.  The Padres beat the Giants 7-5 in the 9th inning for their 5th win in a row (now 60-70 on the year).

*  Online at 10:30 p.m. to read, add to the Best Of post, and check Facebook.

Genealogy today was 9.5 hours.

2)  Wednesday, 24 August 2011:

*  Read email and blogs, then wrote (Not So) Wordless Wednesday - Post 167: Betty and her "Baby."  Wrote "Census, census, get'cher 1940 census here..." and set it for later in the morning.

*  Tried again to download FTM 2012 and it bombed again.  Posted to the FTM Sync Beta board about it and read recent posts.

* Messed around with the Chula Vista Genealogy Cafe design template, then wrote CVGS Annual Summer Picnic Highlights and CVGS Computer Group Highlights - 17 August 2011.

*  Left at 12 noon for McDonald's for lunch, then the library to return my book, and home by 1 p.m.

*  Wrote Changes at FamilySearch Coming Soon.  Started in on the "piles" of paper, sorting them out, then adding the reference ones to the Source list for both Seaver and Carringer.  That worked pretty well - I have a lot of references that are not in my database, or in my source lists.  This is a good exercise!  Got through maybe 8 inches of paper.  I'm trying to sort out all of the articles and papers that are not in my database sources so that I can go through them systematically.  Still have about 20 inches of paper to sort through, though.

*  Went in for dinner at 5:15, we had dinner, and I put the trash out.  Was just settling into some database entry when Linda said we needed to go over to Kurt's house to wish him happy birthday.  We did, and had a piece of cake, and then took cake to two neighbors too.

*  Home by 8 p.m., to watch the Padres game (we lost 2-1 to the Giants).

*  Online at 10 p.m. to add to the Best Of post, check Facebook and write this post.

Genealogy today was 8.5 hours.

My genealogy day - 22 August 2011

Monday was a stay-at-home day for me - I need to buckle up and get my preparations for FGS and ACPL done.

*  Read email and blogs, and posted Amanuensis Monday - the Will of Josiah Wood (1629-1691) of Charlestown, Mass.

*  Found the Seaver and Carringer source files on the external drive on the 1998 computer files.  The 2004 computer doesn't have it.  Open Office can read the MSWorks spreadsheet too.  Worked on the Seaver file for several hours.

*  Wrote Comments on the 1940 U.S. Census RFQ and SOW.  I'm surprised that very few people comment on this post and others like it.  Are they not interested, or don't have commentary?  Strange.  Had lunch.

*  Finished off the Seaver source list, at least as far as getting it into 2004 order.  Still need to add the Dill data and the few additions I've made since 2004.  Wrote How do I catch up to 13 years of genealogy sloth? to describe the process and the goals for ACPL.

*  Checked Ancestry and FamilySearch new databases, checked Facebook and Google Plus, and downloaded Amy's article on 25 topics for genealogy society blogs and read it.

*  Went in at 5:15 p.m. to watch TV, read the paper, and have dinner.

*  Back online at 6 p.m. for the Noah Tutak interview on Geneabloggers Radio.  Played in Geni.com and chatted on the board.

*  Jumped into the Carringer source lists, got it edited, then added the new surnames from the Lewis and Martin ancestries.  Still need to go through the paper stacks to add content.

*  Added to the Best Of post, and wrote this post.

Genealogy today was 12.5 hours.

*  Read email and blogs, wrote Tuesday's Tip - Use Old Fulton NY Post Cards for New York Newspapers and Answers to my AncestorSplit Questions.  Got cleaned up.

* Answered some email, had lunch, doodled around on Ancestry and FamilySearch looking for elusive ancestors, and found a marriage record for Ignatius Grieser and Catherine Gute in 1858 in St. Louis.  It mentioned where they had emigrated from.  Wrote Need Help with German (?) Location to see if somebody could figure out Ignatius home town.

*  Had response from Nick on Facebook, Taco on Google Plus, and others on the blog telling me that it was Buhl in Baden.  Nick went and found the birth records for Buhl online.  Spent the next three hours trying to find the image of the record and deciphering the parents names.

*  Went in at 4:30 to watch the Padres game, and they were already down 3-0 in the first inning.  We left at 5 p.m. to go to Oggi's for dinner, and watched more of it there.  It was 9-0 when we left at 6:15.  Home by 6:30, to find it 11-0, and it ended 13-1.  Pads got wiped out by 7 homers by the Reds.  Pathetic.  Frustrating.  Oh well...

My genealogy day - 11 August 2011

I finally had an (almost) all genealogy day, and kind of wasted several hours.  Oh well...

*  Saw Lori and the boys off at 7:45, cleaned up a bit, and read my email and blogs.  Wrote Treasure Chest Thursday - Sophia (Newton) Hildreth's Death Certificate, then worked on Comparing AmericanAncestors.org Vital Records databases with FamilySearch.org databases.

*  Got cleaned up, and watched last five innings of Padres game.  They beat Mets 3-2.

*  Worked in FTM2012 and Ancestry Member Trees.  Had problem with children missing from AMT families.  Finally gave up...copied the FTM file, renamed it, loaded it, then uploaded it to Ancestry.  Added data, now it syncs easily and children are in the AMT.  Monitored the FTM 2012 Sync message board a lot today.

*  Captured some Mass VR data from FamilySearch, but wonder if they are missing some volumes and pages.  Did some Ancestry tree searching for the Pickford family too.  Then tried to find Lowe family in AMT for the blog series.

*  Tested out and wrote More WikiTree Widgets available.  Answered some email.

*  Went in at 5:15 p.m. to watch the Chargers game, ate dinner, then switched off between debate and game.  Chargers lost to Seahawks, 24-17.  Had to wait for Linda to finish on computer.

*    Read everything, added to the Best Of post, checked Facebook, and wrote this post.

My family history days - 9 and 10 August 2011

These were days four and five of Grandpa Camp -- one without any genealogy content and the other with some.

1)  Tuesday, 9 August:

*  Got the boys fed, and watched TV with them.  We left at 9:45 a.m. for Sea World.  Saw the penguins, beluga whales, walruses, turtles and sharks, but not dolphins, seals or orcas.  After lunch, we all rode the Shipwreck Reef Rapids ride, and got drenched.  They did it a second time.  Then to the playground with Lucas while Logan and Lori did the big waterfall in a boat ride.  They got wet again.  Had a snack, and left by 2 p.m.

*  Home, Lori took a nap, and Linda and I took the boys to Barbara's for a swim.  The boys played the whole time, usually diving and jumping and wrestling and chasing.  Their motors never stop, it seems.  Fun, but tiring.  Home to eat broccoli, then Linda and Lori went out to dinner and I took the boys to In'n'Out for a hamburger.  Then home for dessert.

*  Got to put Logan down for bed, we talked until he started yawning, then "good night" and he's easy!  Lucas is not so easy.

*  Finally got to read email, check Facebook, read blogs, add to the Best Of post, write a post for Wednesday, and done!

2)  Wednesday, 10 August:

*  Read email and blogs before boys awake, noted that Calling Genealogy 911 - Firefighter Needs Help posted, and wrote (Not So) Wordless Wednesday - Post 165: Betty and the Cat and set it for later, then wrote SDGS Meeting on Saturday, 13 August Features Barbara Renick and set it for afternoon.  Lori and the boys left for the beach at 9:45 to meet her friend and her kids there for a play day.

*  Tried to catch up on FTM2012 Sync board, answered some email, watched a bit of the Chasing Women webinar, printed off some papers, and packed the laptop for the CVGS Research Group meeting.

*  Left at 11:20 for the library, got into the room and set up the laptop, then chatted with my colleagues as they came in.  Started the meeting at 12 noon, but projector wasn't there yet.  It arrived shortly, got it set up and we watched Leland Meitzler's Chasing Women webinar from Legacy Family Tree.  The 14 attendees enjoyed it, and we spent the next hour sharing research, telling stories, answering questions, etc.

*  After the meeting, I worked on a query.  Home by 3 p.m. to read, do some work in FTM<2012 and sync with AMY, then went in to watch the Padres game.  Pads won 9-5 over Mets.

*  Had dinner, and Lori and boys came home from the beach and dinner out.  We watched Padres game, then they went to bed at 8 p.m. fairly early.  I put Logan down, he is so sweet and fun and happy.

*  Online at 8:45 p.m. to read, add to the Best Of post, work in the AMT, check Facebook, and write this post.

Genealogy today was 8 hours.

Making family history - 6, 7 and 8 August 2011

These days have not been genealogy days at all.  A little reading emails and blogs, and blogging when I can steal time, but no research at all.  It's Grandpa and Grandma Camp week with the grandsons, who are a lot more work than the granddaughters.

The highlights:

1)  Saturday, 6 August:

Lucas arrived at 12:40 pm on Southwest Airlines for Grandpa camp. We ate lunch at McDonalds (in the airport) then off to Fun-4-All to play arcade games, bumper boats, air hockey and mini-golf. Luckily, we had coupons from our Entertainment book for the costly items. Then home to greet Grandma and watch TV. Went to dinner at Oggi's hoping to have pizza but their oven broke.  Luc had mac and cheese, and Linda and I had salads. Home for dessert, then out to play baseball in the neighbor house driveway. I pitch, he hits, I chase, he practices swinging. We discovered the NHL channel and watched some of a Sharks playoff game. He fell asleep on my shoulder in bed while I was reading a book about Sharks to him.

2)  Sunday, 7 August:

This was a kickback day for Grandpa and Lucas. We played baseball (I pitch, he hits, I chase) for awhile in the morning, then watched TV, had lunch, and we went to Barbara's house at 2 p.m. to swim in her pool. Delightful. Luc was active the whole time, swimming, jumping, climbing, diving, he's a water rat. Home to clean up, then dinner at In 'n' Out (his choice), and more TV. No sooner get him ready for bed and both parents called.  ‎30 minutes later...he fell asleep as I told him about my grandfather's life. I wonder what he'll remember about it? I also mentioned that I hope he tells his grandsons about my life in 60 years or so.

3)  Monday, 8 August:

Day 3 of Grandpa and Grandma Camp. Lucas and I played some baseball in the morning (hitting, catching, throwing), then we published the CVGS Newsletter down at the UPS Store. He put mailing labels and stamps on, and I folded and taped. We celebrated at McDonalds with milk shakes and cheeseburgers. Lori and Logan arrived at 12:15 p.m. and we all went to the San Diego Zoo, then out to dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory in downtown San Diego.  Then home to see Grandma and put two tired little guys to bed.  Logan was so happy to see us - he snuggled with me for hours it seemed, and then the Grandpa Monster came to life, and we had some real family fun.  I can't catch Luc any more, he's too quick.  Logan is easy...and laughs all through the chase.  Who's the bigger kid here?

It's Sea World on Tuesday - we all have passes so we'll use them!  They want to go on the Waterfall ride and the River Raft Ride with me.

My genealogy day - 5 August 2011

This will be the last significant genealogy day for almost a week - Lucas arrives on Saturday and Lori arrives on Monday with Logan.  My day:

*  Read email and blogs - wrote Follow Friday - This Weekend's Genealogy Fun, checked Google Plus, and then wrote I Love the ST BookScan Center system.

*  Got cleaned up, worked a bit in FTM and Ancestry, had lunch, and wrote Book Review: "Genealogy at a Glance: German Genealogy Research."

*  Worked on the CVGS Newsletter and got it 90% complete.  Will publish on Monday, I think.

*  Went in at 3:30 to read the paper and take a nap.  Checked email and blogs afterward, and we went to Lolita's for dinner.

*  Home by 6:15 to read, and write More Family Tree Maker 2012 Notes.  Listened to Geneabloggers Radio and chatted along with the other 50 listeners.  Tried to hear and chat on the Outloud site, but couldn't hear the music or write chat lines for some reason.  I could see the chat board.

*  Answered some email, added to the Best Of post, checked Facebook and wrote this post.

Genealogy today was 11.0 hours.

My genealogy days - 3 and 4 August 2011

We got home late Wednesday night, so no journal post on Wednesday.

Wednesday, 3 August:

*  Read email and blogs, wrote (Not So) Wordless Wednesday - Post 164: Lyle and Betty at the park and San Diego Genealogical Societies Panel on Sunday, 7 August at Bonita Library.

*  Got cleaned up, and wrote Free Small Digital Books at DMK Heritage and set it for early afternoon.

*  Had lunch, packed up and left at 11:30 a.m. for the bank and library.  Attended CVGS Board meeting, then talked to Ben for about 30 minutes.

*  Home by 3:15 p.m. to read, and write Ben needs help, can you suggest a solution?   Did a little online research but not much.

*  We left at 4:50 p.m. for the trolley to downtown San Diego, ate at the Tin Fish, met our Padres account rep for a drink, and watched the Padres beat the Dodgers 3-0.  Team is 48-64 on the fast track to last place.

*  Home by 11 p.m. to read, add to the Best Of post, and check Facebook.

Genealogy on Wednesday was 8.5 hours.

2)  Thursday, 4 August

*  Read email and blogs, wrote Treasure Chest Thursday - Post 76: Edward Hildreth's Death Certificate and FamilySearch YouTube Channel.

*  Got cleaned up, worked in FTM for awhile, checked FTM message board, had lunch, then wrote Some Family Tree Maker 2012 Sync Experiences.

*  Got sidetracked finding Oregon death data, then more FTM work, and mined an Ancestry tree for Seaver information, adding it to my RootsMagic database.  Worked on a website using Blogger.

*  Yvonne called from Westport at 5:30 p.m., and we talked for an hour.  Had dinner, watched TV news, and then back online to work on the CVGS Newsletter.  Got it about 60% finished.

*  Read everything, answered email, checked Facebook, wrote Update on Ben's Identification Problem, added to the Best Of post, and wrote this post.

Genealogy on Thursday was 12.0 hours.

My genealogy day - 2 August 2011

It was an interesting day, but not all genealogy.  A bit...

*  Read email and blogs, and wrote Tuesday's Tip - Use FamilySearch.org for Massachusetts Vital Records and Ancestry.com: "You don't even have to know what you're looking for..." - Post 3 and set it for before noon.

*  Got cleaned up, and left at 10:45 a.m. for the dentist office for cleaning.

*  Home by 12:30 to have lunch and read.  Answered some emails.

*  We left at 1:30 p.m. for Lillian's 100th birthday party at Fredericka.  Great party!  All desserts.  Stopped at Von's on the way home.

*  Home by 4:30 p.m. to read, then wrote New FamilySearch Historical Collections - July 2011.

*  Went in for dinner at 5:45 p.m.  Back online by 6:30 to add media to one of my Ancestry.com trees.

*  Went in at 7 p.m. to watch the Padres game.  Pads lost 1-0 to Dodgers...lots of scoring chances, no production.  Frustrating.

*  Online at 10 p.m. to read, check Facebook and google Plus, add to the Best Of post and write this post.

Genealogy today was 5.5 hours.

My genealogy day - 1 August 2011

The start of the eighth month of the year.  I wonder how I'm doing with my goals and objectives for 2011?  I'm afraid to check and see!

*  Up early, read email and blogs, wrote Family Tree Maker 2012 is in a Public Beta Test and Do you have information for the "Ancestry Errors Wiki?" and set it for late in the morning.

*  Gathered my OASIS stuff and off to Mission Valley to teach the 4th and last class in my series.  This group was great, lots of participation and questions.  Stopped at McDonalds for lunch and the pharmacy for my meds.

*  Home by 1:15 p.m., and read, then started writing Amanuensis Monday - Mary Oatley's Revolutionary War Pension Declaraton but kept dozing off.  After two pages of transcriptions, went in to take a nap.

*  Refreshed at 3:45 p.m. came back to finish the transcription and post it.  Worked on the McKnew spouses ancestry on Ancestry.com, and amazingly found virtually no data about them!

*  Dinner at 6 p.m., then back in Ancestry.com to finish up, and then watered front plants and started back yard watering.  Padres game on, we lost 6-2 to the Dodgers.

*  Back online at 9:45 p.m. to read, check Facebook, add to the Best Of post and write this post.
