Genea-Journal - 29 and 30 June 2019

The year 2019 is now half over - what good news will the second half of 2019 bring?  More political stuff of course.  I didn't journal last night because we went to the Padres game.

1)  Saturday, 29 June:

*  Got only 5 hours sleep - really tired.  Dropped Linda at the Y, home to read, add to the Best Of post, and noted that Surname Saturday -- ROYLE (England to colonial Massachusetts) posted.

*  Picked her up, and we went to the grocery store. Home by 9:45 a.m., wrote the Ancestry post, then took a 90 minute nap.

*  Had lunch, and online at 11:30 to work on the syllabus for the Research Hints presentation.

*  Noted that Saturday Night Genealogy Fun -- Ellen's Questions - Part I posted and wrote Added and Updated Record Collections at FamilySearch.org - Week of 23 to 29 June 2019.

*  Worked in RootsMagic finding WebHints to add to the profiles, and also worked in Social Security Apps and Claims database adding content and sources.  Added to the Best Of post.

*  We left at 4:40 p.m. for the dinner at In 'n' Out, then trolley to Petco Park for the Padres game.  Pads won 12-2 over the Cardinals, so now 42-40, and won 4 in a row.  Home by 11 p.m.  Genealogy this day was 6.0 hours.

2)  Sunday, 30 June:

*  Got only 6 hours of sleep again.  Paper didn't come until 8:15 a.m.  Online at 7:30 to read email and blogs, noted that Added and Updated Ancestry.com Record Collections - Week of 23 to 29 June 2019 posted.  Worked on the Amanuensis deed.

*  We left at 9:40 a.m. for church, and home by 11:15 a.m.  Finished up the Amanuensis post.  Had lunch, then watched the Padres game, dozed in the recliner, read the paper.  Padres lost 5-3 in 11 innings to Cards, so now 42-41.  Won 4 of 5 and 6 of 10.

*  Online to read, noted that Best of the Genea-Blogs - Week of 23 to 29 June 2019 posted.  Started the new one.

*  Had dinner, washed dishes, trimmed ivy in front, and online at 6:30 p.m. to read, then TreeShared 216 profiles in RootsMagic.  Worked through some more WebHints, and worked on the Place List eliminating duplicates and removed unused place names.  Lots more to do!

Genea-Journal - Friday, 28 June 2019

We got the Cox TV and computer installed today.  The technology has improved significantly over 5 years ago. We were able to use the cable from the street into the house for both TV and computer which saved a lot of time.

*  Read email and blogs, added to the Best Of post and noted that 52 Ancestors - Week 284: #482 Jacobus Jillise Van Vorst (1703-1797) of Schenectady, New York posted.  Wrote New Records Available To Search This Findmypast Friday, 28 June 2019 and set it for later.

*  Cox guy showed up and was pretty efficient.  Computer connected in like 30 minutes, TVs connected within 30 minutes.  A telephone problem - the order was wrong to keep our number, so we have to wait several days before canceling AT&T.

*  Had lunch, added to the Best Of post, and took a nap.  Online to write Genealogy News Bytes - 28 June 2019.  Checked Twitter and Facebook.  Wrote the Surname Saturday post.

*  Went in at 5:30 to eat dinner and watch TV news, then online to read and wrote the SNGF post.

*  Went in at 7:10 p.m. to watch the Padres game, read the paper and then my book, washed dishes.  Padres won 3-1 over the Cards so finished the first half 41-40.  Need to go 50-31 to make the playoffs, I think.

*  Online at 10 p.m. to read, add to the Best Of post, and write this post.  Genealogy today was 7.0 hours.

Genea-Journal - Friday, 7 June 2019

I am so far behind on life things, and genealogy things, I worry myself at bedtime.  It was 1:30 a.m. last night, only got 4 hours.  Drat.

*  Dropped Linda at the Y, home to read email and blogs, add to the Best Of post, and noted that 52 Ancestors - Week 281: #476 Jacob Fitz Randolph (1708-1779) of Woodbridge, New Jersey posted.

*  Picked her up, and we went to the grocery store.  Home by 9:45 a.m., answered email, worked a bit on the CVGS newsletter, and crashed at 10:15 for an hour.

*  Online at 11:15 to write New Records Available To Search This Findmypast Friday, 7 June 2019, had lunch, and worked more on the newsletter.

*  Wrote Genealogy News Bytes - 7 June 2019, then checked Twitter and Facebook.  Worked more on the newsletter.

*  Went in at 5:15 p.m. for dinner and watched TV news.  Online at 6:15 to read, and wrote the two Saturday posts.

*  Went in at 7:15 p.m. to watch the Padres game.  Pads got ahead 3-1 in the 6th, Washington went ahead 4-3 in the 9th, and Padres walked off 5-4 in the bottom of the 9th.  Nice win.  Now 33-31 and 2-0 since Fernando Tatis returned.  Hope has sprung up again here in Padresville.

*  Online to read, write this post and check Facebook.m  Genealogy today was 8 hours.

Genea-Journal - Thursday, 6 June 2019

This was an all genealogy day except for my nap and the Padres game, which turned out well.

*  Dropped Linda at the Y, home to read email and blogs, added to the Best Of post and noted that   Treasure Chest Thursday -- 1760 Death of Mary Fitz Randolph (1672-1760) of Woodbridge, New Jersey posted.

*  Picked up Linda and home by 9:15 a.m.  Answered email and wrote "A Mother's Love ..... or Something Else" by Peter E. Small: Part III and set it for later.  Took a nap and then had lunch.

*  Online at 1 p.m. to search for the obituary, wrote Seavers in the News -- L.H. Seaver Dies in Ramona, California and did some research on descendants of that family, adding several cousins to the database.

*  Checked Twitter and Facebook, then started on the 52 Ancestors profile.  Had to find some documents, and found that I did get the will but will have to transcribe it so not tonight.

*  Went in at 5 p.m. to eat dinner and watch TV news, and then online at 5:40 p.m. to write the 52 Ancestors post.

*  Went in at 7:10 p.m. to watch the Padres game and read the paper.  We were behind 4-0 after one inning, but pulled out a 5-4 win over the Nationals with shutdown pitching in the 4th through 9th innings.  So now 32-31 on the season and 3-4 on the homestand.  Washed dishes and finished the new CJ Box book.
