Genea-Journal - 20 February 2019
This was a pretty full genealogy day, with the CVGS DNA Group in the middle of it. It rained this afternoon and into the night here.
* Dropped Linda at the Y, home to read email and blogs, added to the Best Of post, and noted that Toddler Randy -- Post 554 of (Not So) Wordless Wednesday posted. Picked her up, and home by 9:15 a.m.
* Wrote OCCGS BASH Seminar on 9 March Features Crista Cowan and then organized my thoughts on Family tree DNA information for the CVGS DNA group meeting. Left the paper at home! Rested my eyes for 20 minutes, then had lunch.
* Left at 11:20 a.m. for the library, got set up and we had 15 attendees. I went through Family Tree DNA features and then my Genetic Affairs clusters, and most of it was over everyone's head. I'm going to have to change what I'm doing. Smaller bites, I think.
* Home by 2:30 p.m. to read, then wrote A Reader's Take on Ancestry.com Problems - Part V: Why Is There No Chromosome Browser? Checked Twitter and Facebook. Took a nap because I was dozing off at the computer.
* Added to the Best Of post, then went in to eat dinner, watch TV news, read the paper, put out the trash in the cold rain, and washed dishes.
* Online at 6:45 p.m. to read, answer email, and wrote the Treasure Chest post. Resolved 374 Ancestry Hints adding content and sources for maybe 10% of them. Did some Family Tree matching with RootsMagic too.
* Added to the Best Of post, checked Facebook, and wrote this post. genealogy today was 9.0 hours.

Genea-Journal - Tuesday, 19 February 2019
This was not a big genealogy day for me - because life intervened and I had little time to do something research wise. It was a cool day - we had frost on the windshield this morning - that hasn't happened for 10 or 20 years here. %he low overnight here was in the high 30s. The high today was about 60. More rain on Wednesday. After 4+ months, we have more rainfall than our average - 10.5 inches at San Diego.
* Dropped Linda at the Y, home to read email and blogs, add to the Best Of post, and noted that Treasure Chest Tuesday -- 1800 U.S. Census Record of the Burges Metcalf Household in Piermont, N.H. posted.
* Picked her up at 9 and we went grocery shopping, and home by 9:45 a.m. I read blogs, answered email, and at 10:30 lay down for a nap.
* Online at 11:15, I started a post and didn't finish it until later. We left at 11:35 for Linda's dentist appointment. I went to the library and got the latest Lee Child book. We went to lunch at In 'n' Out and were home at 2 p.m.
* Online to write the Genealogy News Bytes - 19 February 2019 post and finished up the RootsTech 2019 Syllabus Articles Are Available on Mobile App and Web Browser post. We had TV problems, so I called DirecTV and sorted it out, finally. Both of us were frustrated.
* Checked Twitter and Facebook. Worked in RootsMagic for awhile to answer an email question on the Marshman family in Wiltshire.
* Went in for dinner at 5:20 p.m., read the paper, watched TV news, and did the dishes.
* Online at 6:45 p.m. to read, then wrote the Wordless Wednesday post, and resolved 195 Ancestry Hints, adding content and sources to the RootsMagic database.
* Went in at 8 p.m. to watch Finding Your Roots. I would prefer only two subjects in the hour just so we can hear more of each story. This one was pretty mundane, and no DNA shown other than the famous cousin. How come I don't get famous cousins?
* Online at 9 p.m. to add to the Best Of post, check Facebook, and write this post. Genealogy today was 7.0 hours.

Genea-Journal - Thursday, 14 February 2019
It rained all day long, and we got about two inches here in Chula Vista. This was not a big genealogy day because of life events, like V Day.
* Linda didn't go to the Y today, but I read email and blogs, added to the Best Of post, and noted that Valentine's Day Census-whacking and Treasure Chest Thursday - 1801 Marriage Record of Amos Underhill and Polly Medcalf in Piermont, N.H. posted.
* Wrote Valentine's Day is Special for Linda and Me and then left at 9:10 a.m. for Costco to get flowers and to the grocery store for food. Home by 11 a.m.

* Decided I'd better start work on the taxes, so entered the year's records from the second bank. Now I have only the credit card data to enter into MSMoney.
* Added to the Best Of post, then checked Twitter and Facebook.
* We left at 4:10 p.m. for Black Angus for our V-Day dinner, and home by 6 p.m. Watched TV news and read the paper.

Genea-Journal - 7-8 February 2019
We went to Tami's on Thursday morning, so I didn't journal last night. Today was a fairly normal genealogy day for me.
1) Thursday, 7 February:
* Dropped Linda at the Y, home to read email and blogs, added to the Best Of post, noted that Treasure Chest Thursday - 1780 Burial Record of Ann Vaux in South Petherton, Somerset posted. Picked her up and home by 9:15 a.m.

Genea-Journal - 5 February 2019
It rained all night and day here - I finally put my shoes on at 2 p.m. and swept the front walk of the debris from the bark beds scattered by the drain spouts off the roof. It should be cold tonight and clearing on Wednesday.
* Read email and blogs, added to the Best Of post, noted that Treasure Chest Tuesday -- 1757 Death Record for Joseph White (1662-1757) in Mendon, Massachusetts posted, and then did some matching of RootsMagic profiles with Family Tree.
* Worked on several Unlinked Trees searching for common ancestors on Ancestry, but failed on all of them. Did 15 of the 21 matches in Cluster 3 and I think it's probably a Pennsylvania family, perhaps Wilhelm or King, but have no proof. Wrote Using GeneticAffairs.com to Create DNA Match AutoClusters - Part 2: The Cluster Graphic.
* Had lunch, then added to the Best Of post, and worked some more in Family Tree. Wrote Genealogy News Bytes - 5 February 2019.
* Checked Twitter and Facebook, then wrote the Wordless Wednesday post. worked some more in RootsMagic and Family Tree.
* Went in at 5:30 p.m. to eat dinner, read the paper, watch TV news, and then the State of the Union. Watched Finding Your Roots at 8 p.m. This one was not very good, but I did find out I'm a cousin of Michael Strahan - he had Maverick in Mass. and also Charlemagne.

Genea-Journal - Saturday, 2 February 2019
We were supposed to drive up to Huntington Beach today to visit Tami's family and see the grandgirls in a play. We were starting the car when Tami called saying there was horizontal rain and wind and she didn't think it was a good idea. Matched my thoughts, so we didn't go. The result was a decent genealogy day!
* Dropped Linda at the Y, then off to my men's group breakfast at Marie Callenders, picked her up, and home to get ready to go. Then we didn't.
* Online to read email and blogs, added to the Best Of post, and noted that Surname Saturday - BUCK (England to colonial Massachusetts) posted.
* Dozed in my chair, then worked 27 record matches in MyHeritage adding content to the RootsMagic tree. Had lunch, and worked on WebHints and Family Tree matching in RootsMagic. Noted that Saturday Night Genealogy Fun -- Super Bowl LIII (2019) Sunday posted.
* Worked in the back yard to get the trash cans within the fence, and the back yard stuff against the south fence and on the ground to reduce hazards of flying objects. I expected something like two years ago when the wind really blew. It didn't blow nearly that hard this time. The rain finally started at 3:30 p.m. and continued through the evening.
* Added to the Best Of post, noted that Added or Updated Record Collections at FamilySearch.org - Week of 27 January to 2 February 2019 posted.
* Went in at 5:15 p.m. to eat dinner, watch TV news, read the paper, and do dishes.
* Online at 7 p.m. to read, work some more in WebHints, made a report for a cousin, answered email, added to the Best Of post, and downloaded, renamed and filed 11 more Hildreth deeds for 1836-1846 in Middlesex County, Mass. from FamilySearch.
* TreeShared 101 profiles and now the Ancestry tree is up-to-date. Checked Facebook, and wrote this post. Genealogy today was 8.0 hours.
