It seems like I frittered the day away not doing genealogy much. Tired...
* We opened gifts this morning, then online to read email and blogs, noted that Merry Christmas to All! and Randy Visits Santa Claus -- Post 597 of (Not So) Wordless Wednesday posted. Nothing to add to the Best Of post.
* Worked on AncestryDNA Notes for matches with common ancestors but didn't add any lines to RootsMagic.

* Online at 1 p.m. to read, noted that On Christmas Day...My Ancestors That Had a Special Event posted. Went in and dozed in the recliner.
* Online at 3 p.m. to read, then checked Facebook, and matched some Sevier names in Family Tree.
* We left at 3:50 p.m. for dinner, but the inn was closed. Drove around town for 75 minutes, finally went to see Christmas Circle, and home to have dinner in front of the TV. How special. But cheaper!

Genea-Journal - Tuesday, 24 December 2019
Christmas Eve and I'm sitting here in my warm pajamas when I could be snoozing in my cap for a long winter's nap (which would be interrupted twice during the night). Dreaming of times long ago, or of times to come. Merry Christmas to all of my friends and readers.
* Online at 7:45 a.m. to read, add to the Best Of post, and noted that Tuesday's Tip: Use the 1930 United States Federal Census posted. Worked a bit in the Ontario Births and Marriages adding content and citations to RootsMagic.
* Took my nap, had lunch, and started on the News Bytes. Computer got sluggish, so I did the laundry and went to the grocery store. What a madhouse. No parking, long lines and their computer crashed stalling everyone in line. Managed to get home by 2 p.m. and posted Genealogy News Bytes - 24 December 2019.
* Checked Twitter and Facebook, and posted there seeking hotel advice for SLC. Answered email and added to the Best Of post.
* Went in for dinner at 5:15, watched TV news, read the paper, and washed dishes. Online at 6:30 p.m. to read, check Facebook again, and resolved 173 Ancestry Hints, adding content and sources to RootsMagic. Matched several families with Family Tree too. Noted that 'Twas the Night Before a Genealogist's Christmas ... posted.
* Added to the Best Of post, checked email, checked Facebook, and wrote this post. Genealogy today was 9.5 hours.
Now I have to find Linda's gifts and put them under the tree. The big challenge on Christmas will be finding a restaurant where she can safely eat that is open. Two of them have closed this last year.

Genea-Journal - 23 December 2019
We survived the family visit, and are now back to the peace and quiet of our usual days here in rainy Chula Vista. A brief rundown:
* Friday, 20 Dec: Lori and Logan came in at 10:30 to stay the weekend. After lunch at D'Lish, they went off to Jump Around. We had dinner at Black Angus.
* Saturday, 21 Dec: They took me to the USS Midway, we had lunch at Seaport Village, and home by 3. I took a nap, they went to GoKarts. Lori made lasagna for dinner.
* Sunday, Dec. 22: Tami and two kids came by 10 a.m. and we had Christmas gifts, then they got takeout for lunch. Tami left at 2:30 or so, and Lori and Logan went to Jump some more. We ate leftovers and they went to dinner. We played monopoly for several hours.
* Monday, 23 Dec: Rainy day, finished the monopoly game (I won), and took them to the airport. Home by 2:15. Took a nap, then worked on the computer the rest of the night except for dinner break.
Been busy tonight answering email, writing blog posts, etc and catching up. Back to regular schedule on Wednesday I think.

Genea-Journal - Thursday, 19 December 2019
6 more days to Christmas. I got a lot of Christmas tasks done today, so the pressure is reduced. Lori and Logan come on Friday for the weekend and Tami's family comes on Sunday, so journaling may be light for a few days. I did more shopping today too - it's fun online!

* Had lunch, then wrapped Linda's gifts and decorated the tree - needs more decorations! Online at 3 p.m. to check Twitter and Facebook. Worked on the 52 Ancestors profile.
* Went in at 5 to eat dinner, watch TV, read the paper, and wash dishes.

* We left at 9:40 a.m. for church, and home by 11:15. Watched football, dozed in the recliner, and had lunch, read the paper, then watched the Chargers game. A terrible game, lost 39-10 to Vikings.
* During the second half, Linda and I stuffed the letters into the cards and into the envelopes. She can';t multi-task any more - it has to be one task and needs a checker. There were about 10 cards without signatures, and then about 8 cards without letters and sealed up. We unsealed them, inserted the letters, and taped them up. Shoddy, but done.
* Online at 4:30 to note that Added and Updated Ancestry.com Record Collections - Week of 8 to 14 December 2019 and Best of the Genea-Blogs - Week of 8 to 14 December 2019 posted.
* Went in at 4:45 p.m. to start dinner, we ate, watched TV news, and did the dishes.
* Online at 6:30 p.m. to add more AncestryDNA notes on new matches, then added one ThruLines to the database.
* TreeShared 70 profiles to the Ancestry tree - it was slow again. Is that a new normal? I'll test it out on a weeknight. Read blogs, saved GeneaNet charts for all five grandkids, and answered email while waiting for the TreeSharing to finish. Checked Facebook.
* Went in at 8:15 p.m. to watch the end of the late game, and then Charger highlights. Online at 9 p.m. to add to the Best Of post, and write this post. Genealogy today was 4.5 hours.

We got started on the Christmas card project today...finally. More than half done.
* Dropped Linda at the Y, home to read, added to the Best Of post, and noted that Surname Saturday -- LNU (Susanna, married Edward Richards, England to colonial Massachusetts) posted.
* Picked her up at 9 a.m. and home. Wrote the FamilySearch and Ancestry posts. Looked at the ThruLines lists and checked for new ThruLines.
* Took my nap and up at 12:30 to eat lunch, then noted that Saturday Night Genealogy Fun - Tell Us Your Best Christmas Memory posted.
* Went to the library to get a book, and put some miles on the Lincoln.
* Got Linda started working on the cards. I updated the letter after the girls gave me input. Added some photos. Moved recent photos from downloads to the 2019 Pictures folders.
* Went in at 5 p.m. to cook dinner, got the printing started for the letter. Let the ham burn, drat. We ate, watched TV, and I read the paper and washed dishes.
* Continued the letter printing - got 80 done tonight. They are damp so need to dry out overnight. That ink is wet!
* Sorted out what Linda did - added return labels and address labels, while she added stamps and wrote inside the cards. Got all 80 to the point where they need letters and then sealed.
* Online at 7:30 p.m. to answer email, add to the Best Of post, and noted that Added and Updated Record Collections at FamilySearch.org - Week of 8 to 14 December 2019 posted. Checked Facebook.
* TreeShared 60 RootsMagic profiles to the Ancestry tree - slow tonight - 60 syncs in 35 minutes. Read blogs and wrote this post simultaneously. Genealogy today was 6.0 hours.

Genea-Journal - Wednesday, 11 December 2019
This was the day of the CVGS Holiday Luncheon at Karen's condo clubhouse, and it worked out pretty well. Except for my phone, which ran out of juice after 4 photos. I need a new phone... Slept poorly last night, awake at 4:15, finally back to sleep at 5:15 and up and atom at 6:15.
* Dropped Linda at the Y at 7 a.m., home to read, added to the Best Of post, and noted that Papa Lee Holds His First Grandchild -- Post 595 of (Not So) Wordless Wednesday. Worked on some MyHeritage DNA matches.
* Picked her up and home to answer email, then tried to nap and failed. Got the two gifts ready and we left at 10:30 a.m. for the luncheon.
* Food was good, table talk was good, then we honored Virginia and Gary for their service and gave them lifetime membership. Gary showed his mystery members - baby, kid and adult photos of 5 members, but the light in the room washed out what was on the screen. We shared our Christmas memories, had the door prize drawings, then the table decoration drawings, and the BOGO gift exchange. We regifted last year's gifts and will put them aside to do it next year too. We were home by 2:15.
* I took an hour long recliner nap, and then online to read, wrote Dates and Speakers For MyHeritage Live 2020 in Tel Aviv Announced and GeneaNet.org Offers a Beautiful Fan Family Chart for Free! Checked Twitter and Facebook.
* Went in at 5:20 p.m. for dinner, watched TV news, read the paper, put out the trash, and washed dishes.
* Online at 6:45 p.m. to add to the Best Of post, wrote the Treasure Chest post, and resolved 239 Ancestry Hints. Answered email, checked Facebook and wrote this post. Genealogy today was 9.0 hours.
