Genea-Journal - Wednesday, 127 July 2019
This was a pretty good day - we had our DNA group meeting, my friend found a birth father, and the Padres won and almost had a no-hitter.
* Dropped Linda at the Y, home to read, added to the Best Of post, and noted that Marion and Betty at Cabrillo Monument -- Post 574 of (Not So) Wordless Wednesday posted.
* Picked her up, and home by 9:15 a.m. Reviewed the last month and made my list for the DNA group, then looked at my 5th great-grand ThruLines on Ancestry. Had lunch and added to the Best Of post.
* Left at 11:20 a.m. for the library, had to park in the parking structure and walk over. Got set up in the conference room. We had 15. I did my hour, and the attendees discussed their status and questions and problems. Able to show 4 or 5 of them how to connect their Ancestry tree to their DNA test results. One friend got a ThruLine for his birth father because he has a half-sibling match.
* Home by 2:30, took a short nap, then wrote FREE "Family Tree Adventure" Event on 3 August Features Kenyatta Berry in Carlsbad, California. Did some random WebHints in RootsMagic.
* Went in at 4:30 p.m. to watch the Padres game, ate dinner, read the paper, finished the laundry, put out trash and washed dishes. Padres took a no-hitter into the 8th inning (we haven't had a no-hitter in 51 seasons...) and they won 3-2 over Marlins to break 4 game losing streak. Now 46-49 on the season.
* Online at 7:15 p.m. to read, then wrote the Treasure Chest post, added to the Best Of post, checked Facebook and wrote this post. Genealogy today was 9.0 hours.

Genea-Journal - Tuesday, 16 July 2019
This was a fairly full genealogy day, but also a frustrating day.
* Dropped Linda at the Y, home to read, added to the Best Of post and noted that Treasure Chest Tuesday - 1870 U.S. Census for Abraham Camp Household in Saginaw, Michigan posted.
* Picked her up and we went to the 99 Cent Store for tamales and canned veggies and even some fresh fruit and veggies. Home by 9:45 a.m.
* Worked on the DNA talk - reviewed the one from last year, edited it a bit, and started replacing the screen shots. Updated the Ancestry shots. Added to the Best Of post.
* Laid down for a nap at noon, and the power went off, knocking the computer out. Got up and got the computer going and during the bootup the power went off again. As a result, the next bootup included the check disk routine which took about an hour to finish. I couldn't get the browser to open and restarted several times. It finally did so it looks like no harm, no foul. Except i'll never have the 90 minutes back. Worried that the computer might be dead, I opened the laptop and read and started the News post. Frustrating.
* Finished the Genealogy News Bytes - 16 July 2019 post, and checked Twitter and Facebook. Answered some email.
* Went in at 4:10 p.m. to watch the Padres game, eat dinner, read the paper, do dishes, and read my book. Padres lost to Marlins 12-7 and it wasn't that close. Now 45-49 and lost 4 in a row again. Going nowhere fast... Frustrating.
* Online at 7:30 p.m. to read, wrote the Wordless Wednesday post, and answered more email. Checked Facebook and wrote this post. Genealogy today was 6.5 hours.

This was a fairly full genealogy day since there was no Padres game.
* Dropped Linda at the Y, home to read email and blogs, added to the Best Of post, and noted that Amanuensis Monday -- 1810 Mortgage Deed of Nathan Gates to Jonathan Osgood in Gardner, Massachusetts posted. Picked her up and home by 9 a.m.
* Worked for almost two hours mining the updated Funeral Homes and Obituary records on Ancestry. It turned out I had many of them, but was able to add several more persons and some dates/places to the database.
* Had lunch, and did some more. Wrote Monday Genea-Pourri - 15 July 2019. Gathered the AT&T stuff and took my email sheets with them to FedEx and turned the hardware in to send to AT&T. Pretty easy.
* Home by 2:15 p.m. to take my nap. Online at 3 p.m. to check Twitter and Facebook, and then searched for records for Treasure Chest.
* Went in at 5:30 p.m. to finish cooking dinner, we ate, watched TV news and I did dishes.

Genea-Journal - 12 to 14 July 2019
The Padre games lasted way too long on Friday and Saturday nights, so I didn't journal.
1) Friday - the usual - blogging, reading, practiced the two talks, and the Padres lost 5-3 to Braves.
2) Saturday - the usual - reading, blogging, gave the two talks at SDGS to good reviews, enjoyed the ice cream and challenge. Padres lost 7-5 in 10 innings to Braves.
3) Sunday - the usual - blogging, reading, researching, TreeShared, did Ancestry Hints, and Padres lost 4-1 to Braves. Braves are good! Pads now 45-48 on the season, and lost 6 straight at home.
Back to normal on Monday. I think.

* We left at 10:40 a.m. for Linda's hygienist appointment, and I got my hair cut. We were home by 11:30 a.m. Had lunch, and took a nap.
* Online at 12:45 p.m. to write Seavers in the News -- Judge Thomas O. Seaver Dies in 1912 in Vermont, then worked on the 52 Ancestors profile.

Genea-Journal - Wednesday, 10 July 2019
I've always known that I'm human, and proved it several times today. I found two misteaks.
* Dropped Linda at the Y, home to read, added to the Best Of post and noted that Siblings Marion and Fred in Chula Vista in 1982 -- Post 573 of (Not So) Wordless Wednesday posted.
* Decided I had better practice my two talks on Saturday, so started the first one before I picked Linda up at 9 a.m. Home by 9:15 and finished the practice run. Added some words to several slides.
* Took a nap, and then prepped for the CVGS Research Group. Figured out that I forgot to go to the UPS Store to print the CVGS Newsletter, so printed the master and the mail list. Had lunch.
* Left at 11:20 for the library, got set up, we had 16 for the Research Group and I bumbled through my 45 minutes. Gotta do better! Stopped at the UPS Store and printed the newsletter two days late. Maybe no one will notice!
* Home by 3 p.m. to read, noted that San Diego Genealogical Society Monthly Meeting and Ice Cream Social on Saturday, 13 July posted. Checked Twitter and Facebook. I think I dozed in the computer chair. Went out and got the tumbleweed remains in the trash can.
* Went in at 5:30 p.m. for dinner, read the paper, put out the trash and do dishes.
* Online at 6:30 p.m. to read, then worked on the Treasure Chest post. Found out that I did two 6th great-grandparents for 52 Ancestors rather than two 5th great-grandparents, so will do the 5th great-grandfather this week. Need to edit some details on the ones already done. This is error #2 made some time ago but found today.

Another day with some genealogy and some real life issues, and then there was the All Star game tonight.
* Dropped Linda at the Y, home to read email and blogs, added to the Best Of post, and noted that Treasure Chest Tuesday - 1892 City Directory Entry for David Auble (1817-1894) posted.
* Picked her up and we went to the grocery store. Home by 9:40 a.m. Worked a bit on DNA Match notes on the Common Ancestors list.
* Left at 10:20 for the health center and my primary care physician appointment. Didn't gain any weight, blood pressure is down a bit, and A1C is below the threshold still. Everything is A-OK, I guess. Home by 11:15 to take a nap.
* Had lunch. Online at 12:30 p.m. to read, add to the Best Of post, and wrote Genealogy News Bytes - 9 July 2019. Answered email, checked Facebook and Twitter, and resolved 163 Ancestry Hints adding sources and content to the RootsMagic tree.
* Went in at 5 p.m. to watch the All Star game, ate dinner, read the paper, watered the front plants, read my book, and did the dishes. American won 4-3 and the only Padres All Star didn't get to play. Bummer.
* Online at 8 p.m. to read, wrote the two Wednesday mornings posts, checked Facebook, and added to the Best Of post. Wrote this post. Genealogy today was 6.5 hours.

Genea-Journal - Monday, 8 July 2019
I finally got a major problem fixed - not in genealogy, in life. Didn't do much genealogy today, really just blogging.
* Dropped Linda at the Y, home to read email and blogs, added to the Best Of post, and noted that Amanuensis Monday -- 1808 Mortgage Deed of Nathan Gates to Merari Spaulding in Gardner, Massachusetts posted.
* Picked her up, and home by 9:15 a.m. to read more and check Facebook. Lori called about their visit.
* Drove the Lincoln down to the smog shop for the smog test. It failed. I hadn't driven it enough since the computer reset on Friday, so had to go drive on the freeway and then on city streets - spent 45 minutes doing that. It passed.. Whew. So now I can register it. We need to sell or donate the beast.
* Home by 11:45 a.m. to eat lunch, add to the Best Of post, and took a nap.
* Online at 1:30 p.m. to read, watch a webinar, then wrote Monday Genea-Pourri - 8 July 2019.
* Answered email, and then checked Facebook and Twitter.
* Went in at 5 p.m. to eat dinner and watch the Home Run Derby. Read the paper, and washed dishes.

Genea-Journal - Friday, 5 July 2019
This was almost an all genealogy day here in the cave, but it was a nice day outside and I got the Lincoln going, then the Padres game tonight turned out OK. So a good day!
* Dropped Linda at the Y, home to read, add to the Best Of post, and noted that 52 Ancestors - Week 285: #483 Anna (Beck) Van Vorst (1704-before 1749) of Schenectady, New York posted.
* Pivked up Linda, and home by 9:15 a.m. Worked in MyHeritage a bit in Record Matches, adding content and sources to the RootsMagic tree.
* Called AAA at 10 a.m. and the guy came at 10:20. Had to replace the battery, but the Lincoln started and ran OK, took it about 5 miles out and 5 back to find that Don's was closed for the weekend. Crap. so I have to take it for smog on Monday. Home by 11 a.m.
* Wrote New Records Available To Search This Findmypast Friday, 5 July 2019 and took a nap.
* Had lunch, added to the Best Of post, and wrote Genealogy News Bytes - 5 July 2019. Wrote the two Saturday posts. Did some FSFT matching and added a DNA ThruLine line to the RootsMagic tree.
* Went in at 5:15 p.m. to eat dinner, watch TV news.
* Online at 6 p.m. to work on the CVGS Newsletter and have it 80% done, just need the filler stuff.
* Went in at 7:10 p.m. to watch the Padres game, read the paper, and then read my book. Washed dishes. Padres won 3-2 over Dodgers, so now 43-45 and need to win two more to finish at 45-45 before the All-Star game. Earthquake 6.9 in Ridgecrest at 8:20 p.m..

Genea-Journal - 4 July 2019
Happy 4th of July to all of my readers. This was a quiet genealogy day at home. We didn't
t go down to church for the fireworks for the first time since about 1997.
* Dropped Linda at the Y, home to read, added to the Best Of post, and noted that Treasure Chest Thursday - 1728 Dutch Reformed Church Marriage of Jacob Van Vorst and Anna Beck in Albany, New York posted.
* Picked her up and home by 9:15 a.m. Wrote My 22 Known Revolutionary War Soldiers. Researched and wrote Seavers in the News -- Mrs. R.A. Seaver Dies in New York in 1913, but messed up the post time. Had a nap.
* Online at 12 noon to read, had lunch, and worked on the 52 Ancestors post for Friday.
* Started the CVGS Newsletter - got three pages done, five more to do. Watched the DC 4th of July celebration. Picked weeds in the back yard for awhile - filled the trash can, and got the tumbleweeds disconnected from the roots. Need to get them in the can too next week.
* Went in at 5:30 p.m. to finish dinner prep, we ate, watched TV news, and then watched the Padres game, read the paper, then read my book, and washed dishes and put the trash cans out.
* Padres lost to the Dodgers 5-1, so now 42-45 and lost 5 in a row. Drat. Linda saw fireworks from Imperial Beach and CV bayfront out the back window and was excited.
* Online at 9:30 to read, check Facebook, and write this post. Genealogy today was 7.5 hours.

Genea-Journal - 1-3 July 2019
I would get a lot more done, and journal every night, if I didn't watch the Padres games. We lost three games this week to the Giants, and we played badly, losing 13-2, 10-4 and 7-5. We went Tuesday night when the score was 10-4, but we left after 7 innings when it was 7-1. So no journaling the last two nights.
1) Monday, 1 July:
* Dropped Linda, home to read, picked her up and home for Mondays With Myrt. Took a nap. blogged twice, did social media, and did some research. Watched the Padres game until 10:30 and went to bed. Genealogy this day was 6.0 hours.
2) Tuesday, 2 July:
* Dropped Linda, home to read, picked her up, and home to write blog posts. Took two naps, finished up the two presentations and handouts, did social media, and we left at 4:45 for dinner and the Padres game. We got home at 10:30 p.m. Genealogy this day was 6.0 hours.
3) Wednesday, 3 July:
* Dropped Linda off, to the medical center for my lab test, home to read, add to the Best Of post, and noted that Fred and Betty in 1982 -- Post 572 of (Not So) Wordless Wednesday posted. We stopped at the grocery store on the way home.
* Wrote CVGS Saturday Workshop on 6 July Features Patricia Diane Godinez on FamilySearch.org and took a nap.
* Had lunch, and left for the library at 11:20 a.m. Attended the CVGS Board meeting. Home by 1:30 p.m.
* Added to the Best Of post, and wrote Ancestry.com ThruLines, MyTreeTags and New & Improved DNA Matches Out of Beta. Checked Facebook and Twitter. Took another nap. Wrote the Treasure Chest post and entered a ThruLine into the RootsMagic database.
* Went in at 5:30 p.m. to finish dinner, then watched the Padres game, read the paper, washed dishes, watered the front plants, and read my book. Pads lost 7-5 to Giants, so we've lost 4 straight, and are now 42-44 on the season, and have 4 games in L.A.
* Added to the Best Of post, checked Facebook, and wrote this post. Genealogy today was 7.0 hours.
