Well, this is it for 2017. An interesting year in many ways. Genealogy wise - it was a year of no major ancestral discoveries, but a lot of little ones. This was not a big genealogy day.
* Read email and blogs while watching Meet the Depressed. They were. Went off to church at 9:30 a.m. and home by 11:20.
* Transcribed the two probate record pages for Amanuensis Monday. Noted that Randy's Best Genea-Musings Posts for 2017 posted.
* Went in at 12:30 p.m. to eat lunch, and watched football, and read the paper. Watched the Chargers game - they beat Oakland 30-10 in hopes of a playoff berth - they finished 9-7. However, none of the three things that had to happen did, so they didn't make the playoffs. Oh well.
* Online at 4:45 to read, and proofread the transcription. Noted that Best of the Genea-Blogs - 24 to 30 December 2017 posted.
* Went in at 5:15 to watch TV news, finish up cooking and eat dinner, then washed dishes.
* Online at 6:30 p.m. to read, noted that Added or Updated Record Collections at FamilySearch.org - Week of 24 to 30 December 2017 posted, then wrote the Happy New Year post and the Amanuensis Monday post.
* Went in at 8:15 to watch the ball drop at 9 p.m. and read my book. Boring - the ball drop, not the Patterson book.
* Online at 9:05 p.m. to check Facebook, then wrote this post. Genealogy today was 4.0 hours.

My Genealogy Sunday - 17 December 2017
The sands in the hour glass creep slowly toward Christmas...just saying. Linda is going shopping for me on Monday. I really want See's candy (dark chocolate peppermint patties) and M&Ms, in case she asks you.
* Read email and blogs, finished up the Best Of post, and then off to church at 9:30 a.m. They celebrated December birthdays after the service, and Linda was honored. She couldn't eat the bake and that was all they had to eat. Home by 12:15 p.m.
* Transcribed the Horton probate record, and went in to watch football at 1:50 p.m. New England squeezed by Pittsburgh 27-24 in a good game. I napped in the recliner through the second quarter, then read the paper.
* Online at 4:15 to note that Best of the Genea-Blogs - 10 to 16 December 2017 posted, then wrote the Amanuensis post for Monday.
* Went in at 5 p.m. to watch TV news, eat dinner, and wash dishes. Online at 6 p.m. to read, then wrote next week's Amanuensis post, since it will be Christmas day and I might be busy and not here. My Genealogy Saturday - 16 December 2017
Only 9 more days until Santa comes. Genea-Santa is almost ready. The days pass swiftly at this time of the year.
* Dropped Linda off, went to the men's group breakfast and led the Bible Study. Picked up Linda at 9:45, and we stopped at the grocery store. Home by 10:20 a.m.
* Online to read, noted that Surname Saturday -- LNU (Mary, wife of John Woodin- England to New England) posted, and added to the Best Of post.
* Went in at 12:30 p.m. to eat lunch, then watched football, read the paper, and took a nap in the recliner.

My Genealogy Friday - 15 December 2017
This was a stay at home day for me...but I got no real research done - too lazy.
* Dropped Linda off, home to read, picked her up and home by 9:15 a.m. Online to note that 52 Ancestors - Week 205: #284 Samuel Horton (1686-1778) of Eastham, Massachusetts posted. Wrote New Records Available To Search This Findmypast Friday, 15 December 2017 and set it for later.
* Added to the Best Of post, and worked in FamilySearch Family Tree sharing content with Horton folks in RootsMagic. Fixed Samuel's family.
* The solar guy came and I watched him for 30 minutes - everything looks OK. They took photos og all the appliances and then measured the roof. Took my nap, then had lunch.
* Online at 1 p.m. to read, then worked on the Genealogy News Bytes - 15 December 2017 post.
* Worked in FSFT on one of the Seaver lines matching folks with RootsMagic and adding content in both places. Checked Twitter and Facebook. Rested my eyes for 30 minutes and took headache meds. Answered email, and added to the Best Of post.
* Went in at 5:15 p.m. to watch TV news, eat dinner, read the paper, and wash dishes.

My Genealogy Thursday - 14 December 2017
This was not much of a genealogy day. Only two blog posts for the 4th day in a row. I wonder if anybody cares? It's given me more time to do what I need to do. We finished the Christmas card flurry today.
* Dropped Linda at the Y at 7:30, home to read email and blogs, picked her up at 9, home at 9:15, and we left at 9:40 for her neuro appointment. The doc says she has not lost much since last time. It's hard to tell. She almost aced the memory test. She still can't get the three words mentioned a minute before. We dropped the first 50 cards at the post office, and stopped at the 99 Cent store to get more cards, wrapping paper, canned vegetables and more.
* Home by 11 a.m. and noted that 1760 Death Records of Jabez and Elizabeth Snow in Eastham, Mass. --- Post 394 of Treasure Chest Thursday posted. Added to the Best Of post. Answered email. Took a nap.
* Had lunch, then online at 1 p.m to write Seavers in the News - William H. Seaver Dies in 1896 in Allston, Mass.
* Printed off more Christmas letters and folded them. Linda finished the list this afternoon and evening. 30 more cards to mail on Friday. I did some shopping - she found a catalog and checked some clothes that she liked.
* Checked Twitter and Facebook, added to the Best Of post, and forgot to look at the 52 Ancestors guy for records. Oops.
* Went in at 5:30 p.m. for dinner, read the paper, watched TV news, and washed dishes.
* Online at 6:45 p.m. to read, then worked on the 52 Ancestors profile. Found I had not added probate records to the profile, so found them and extracted information for the profile. I will transcribe the probate records for Monday, then add them to the profile later.
* Checked Facebook, and wrote this post. Genealogy today was 7.0 hours.

My Genealogy Wednesday - 13 December 2017
12 more days until Christmas. I still have shopping to do. Linda does too.
* Dropped Linda off at the Y, home to read email and blogs, picked her up, and went to the grocery store to get rolls for the CVGS luncheon. Home by 9:45 a.m.
* Noted that Photos from the 2013 SCGS Genealogy Jamboree - Part 3 -- Post 494 of (Not So) Wordless Wednesday posted, and added to the Best Of post. I took a short eyerest, not a nap.
* We left at 10:45 for the CVGS luncheon at the South library. Had about 30, several were sick. I ate a lot. We got home by 2 p.m.
* Read, then took a recliner nap. Online at 3:15 p.m. to read, then wrote "I Understand You Do Genealogy Research" and checked Twitter and Facebook.
* Worked on the Christmas letter printing - got the second page of the 55 I did yesterday, and printed off about 30 more of the first page, I'll do the second page tomorrow (the ink has to dry). Linda started labeling, stamping, and signing last night, and I folded the first batch of letters - we did about 40 cards tonight.
* Went in at 5 p.m. to eat dinner, watch TV news, put out the trash, and wash dishes. Online at 7 p.m. to read, write the Treasure Chest post, and work on the cards.
* TreeShared, then resolved about 200 Ancestry Hints off and on adding content and sources to the RootsMagic profiles.

My Genealogy Tuesday - 12 December 2017
This was not much of a genealogy day - life events took over the day. But I made some progress on them.
* Dropped Linda off, home to read email and blogs, picked her up and home by 9:15 a.m. Added to the Best Of post and noted that Treasure Chest Tuesday - 1841 Bounty Immigrant Arrival in New South Wales Card for Alexander Whittell posted.
* We left a 9:45 a.m. for Linda's 10 a.m. hygienist appointment. Then we went to In 'n' Out for lunch, and home by 12 noon.
* Answered email, then wrote Genealogy News Bytes - 12 December 2017.
* Started on the Christmas letter and the labels. Linda checked the addresses, and I made some Facebook contacts for some of them. Sent the girls their paragraphs and they edited them tonight. Had a struggle to find good photos of family groups - I did a poor job this year of getting grandkid photos. Drat. Linda got some of the envelopes stamped and labeled and is waiting for letters and labels.
* Checked Twitter and Facebook, but did nothing genealogy wise.
* Went in at 5 p.m. to eat dinner, read the paper, watch TV news, and did the dishes. Finished the laundry too.
* Added to the Best Of post, and wrote the Wordless post. Edited the letter, and started printing off the first page, but the printer ink had to be replaced, the print heads cleaned, etc. Ended up with about 50 of the first page. They need to dry out overnight.
* Checked Facebook and wrote this post. Genealogy today was 4.5 hours.

My Genealogy Monday - 11 December 2017
It was an 81F day here, clear and sunny. Should be down in the 40s tonight. It's almost winter, and two weeks until Christmas. I keep reminding myself to shop. Only 20 more days until 2018.
* Dropped Linda off at the Y by 7:30, home to read email and blogs, picked her up and we were home by 9 a.m.
* Got onto Mondays With Myrt and didn't pontificate much - a bit on the fires, a bit on Tony's program, and that was it. Noted that Amanuensis Monday - 1749 Guardianship of Isaac Brown and John Brown in Eastham, Massachusetts posted. Took my nap.
* Had lunch, and online at 12:45 p.m. to print off the newsletter master and the labels. Added to the Best of post, and answered email. Wrote Monday Genea-Pourri - 11 December 2017.
* Linda went with me to the UPS Store, but got her nails done down the mall. I finished up my CVGS newsletter printing and mailing, and had an ice cream cone at McDonalds while I waited.
* Home by 3 p.m. to read, then checked Twitter and Facebook, and worked on Lauretta's question. Got it done, and called her, she was happy. She'll be surprised by the package I'm sending.
* Went in at 5 p.m. to watch TV news, eat dinner, read the paper, and wash dishes.
* Online at 6 p.m. to read, then wrote the Treasure Chest post for Tuesday, and did more shopping for Linda. Got her a couple of things on amazon, but the really pretty teal top eludes me. She does have a closet full of them. Maybe I'll just wrap one of them up... More packages for the kids and Linda came today.
* Checked Facebook, added to the Best Of post, and wrote this post. Genealogy today was 8.0 hours.

My Semi-Genealogy Weekend - 9 and 10 December 2017
I didn't accomplish much in genealogy this weekend. I didn't go to the i4GG Conference either. Haven't started the Christmas cards and letters yet. I still need to do some shopping (online). It was warm this weekend. The Chargers won.

* I watched the Army-Navy game in my recliner and dozed a bit after the pizza slice.
* Online at 3 p.m. to read, noted that Saturday Night Genealogy Fun -- Have You Visited an Ancestral Town? posted. Wrote the Ancestry and FamilySearch posts. Checked Facebook. Went out in the front yard and trimmed the roses.

My Genealogy Friday - 8 December 2017
Well, I'm almost done with my Christmas shopping, but I'm behind on the Christmas letter and cards. Not a whole lot of genealogy progress today.
* Dropped Linda off, home to read, picked her up and home by 9:15 a.m.
* Noted that 52 Ancestors - Week 204: #283 Ruth (Young) Brown (1688-1768) of Eastham, Massachusetts posted, and wrote New Records Available To Search This Findmypast Friday, 8 December 2017. Added to the Best Of post.
* Tried to nap and failed, Linda went to lunch with Barbara and Carolyn, and I had lunch. Online at 1 p.m. to read, then worked on Genealogy News Bytes - 8 December 2017. Caught a BSO with Rhode Island Seaver marriages and added several, with sources, to the RootsMagic database.
* Checked Twitter and Facebook, did a Photo Discovery on MyHeritage, checked Ancestry and FamilySearch databases, shopped online and answered email. Made a report for the Jeff who called several nights ago. Took a short nap.
* Went in at 5:30 to watch TV news, read the paper, eat dinner, and wash dishes.
* Online at 7 p.m. to read, wrote the two Saturday posts, and then worked on the CVGS Newsletter. About 85% done - need to fill one more page then do the TOC.

My Genealogy Thursday - 7 December 2017
Pearl Harbor Day 76 years ago. I always wonder what my parents and grandparents were thinking when that happened. The wind came up around noontime, lots of leaves blowing and trash cans rolling. No fire nearby, but a big one up east of Oceanside.
* Dropped Linda off, home to read, picked her up and home by 9:15 a.m.
* Noted that 1720 Marriage Record of Jabez Snow and Elisabeth Paine in Eastham, Mass. --- Post 393 of Treasure Chest Thursday posted, added to the Best Of post, then wrote Dear Randy - How Did You Find That 1840 Lancashire Marriage Record?
* Sleepy, so took my nap. Had lunch, and online at 12:45 p.m. to look for a juicy newspaper story. Didn't find any - so wrote Seavers in the News - John W. Seaver Dies in Cleveland instead.
* Answered email,. added to the Best Of post, and checked Twitter and Facebook. Looked for the death of Samuel Horton some more. No luck. Got the CVGS newsletter started - maybe 70% done. Will need a lot of filler this month.
* Went in at 5:15 p.m. for dinner, read the paper, watched fire news on TV, and washed dishes.
* Online at 6:30 p.m. to read, then put together the 52 Ancestors post. Did a little more research on her.
* Worked in FamilySearch Family Tree matching profiles with RootsMagic, but added nothing new to the RM database. Fixed one family in FSFT.

My Genealogy Saturday - 2 December 2017
Tomorrow is my Angel Linda's 75th birthday. There is no surprise party this year unless I don't know about it!
* Dropped Linda off at the Y, then went directly to the Bible Study at Marie Calendar's. We had a spirited discussion about God's plan for His creation. Picked Linda up, and to the grocery store, and home by 10:30 a.m.
* Online ti read, add to the Best Of post, and noted that Surname Saturday -- LNU (Elizabeth who married John Goodrich (England to colonial New England) posted. Took my nap since I didn't sleep well last night.
* Online at 12:30 p.m. to read, noted that Saturday Night Genealogy Fun -- Genealogy Database Problem Report posted, and had lunch and watched football for awhile.
* Finally fired up the new HP Envy two-in-one laptop, got it set up, and started transferring genealogy files to my flash drive to go on the new laptop. This is still ongoing!
* Wrote the Ancestry and FamilySearch posts. Answered some email. Checked Twitter and Facebook. Watched more football.
* Went in at 5 p.m. to eat dinner, watch football, read the paper, and wash dishes.
* Online at 6 p.m. to read, add to the Best Of post, and write the Amanuensis post. Watched more football. Downloaded Chrome, RootsMagic and LibreOffice to the new laptop. I need to make a list of programs to install on the laptop.
