My Genealogy Thursday - 29 October 2015

Where did October go?  It went by quickly.  I've been busy...but it's only like 8 weeks until Christmas.  Yikes.  I have to do something for Linda's birthday first!

*  Read email and blogs, then wrote Treasure Chest Thursday - Post 286: 1847 Death Certificate of Jonathan White (1805-1850) of Killingly, Conn.  Wrote RootsTech 2016 Announces Thursday (4 February) Keynote Speakers and set it for later.

*  Worked on the last two OASIS presentations and handouts and I'm ready to go.  Transferred the files to Dropbox to put on the laptop.

*  Added some Seaver folks I found by happenstance online - got 4 generations of them, with an English immigrant to Canada.  Used this for How Did I Miss This Before? Ancestry.com Shows Others Researching a Person.  Took my nap.

*  Online at 3 p.m. to read, check Facebook, and worked on the 52 Ancestors person, adding content and sources.

*  Went in at 5:15 p.m. to watch TV, eat dinner, read the paper, water the front plants, and clip some of the rose bushes.  In at 6:30 p.m. to wash the dishes.

*  Online at 7 p.m. to read, answer email, add to the Best Of post, and then transcribe the Stephen Cutter will, source it, and get it into the biography.

My Genealogy Monday - 26 October 2015

I'm back in the genea-saddle again...after three days essentially offline taking care of and loving on the three grandchildren.  We got them on Friday at lunchtime, and they went home on Sunday afternoon.  I had little time on Friday night or Saturday or Sunday morning for genealogy - I had prepared the regular posts and not much else.  After the Chargers game on Sunday, I wrote three blog posts for Sunday night and Monday.

*  Today, I read email and blogs, and noted that Amanuensis Monday - Post #291: 1766 Letter of Administration for Henry Pickel (172901765) Estate of Readingtown, N.J. posted.

*  Joined Mondays With Myrt at 8:45 a.m. and talked about Genea-Santa and not much else.  Then listened to the RootsTech Ambassador webinar which had technical problems.

*  Noted that New or Updated Record Collections at FamilySearch.org - October 18-24, 2015 posted and wrote Chula Vista Genealogical Society October Program is: "Tea With Mrs. Roosevelt" and set it for later.  Took a short nap.

*  Online to answer email, then made reservations for Las Vegas and Salt Lake City trips.  Southwest airfare was expensive.

*  Added to the Best Of post, checked Facebook, and went in at 5:15 p.m. for dinner, read the paper, watch TV, water the front plants, and wash dishes.

*  Online at 7 p.m. to read, write a post for Tuesday, and then worked in Ancestry Hints adding content and sources.  Cleared 96 Hints.  Sources at 66,323.  Genealogy today was 10.0 hours.

My Genealogy Thursday - 22 October 2015

Today was my daughter's 39th birthday - we sang to her while she was picking up Charlie and had Facetime with the girls.  Other than that, it was all genealogy except when I listened to the Benghazi hearings.

*  Read email and blogs while watching the hearings, then listened to them until 4 p.m. online.  Wrote Treasure Chest Thursday - Post 285: 1739 Death Record of Elizabeth (Harwood) Prescott (1701-1739) in Westford, Mass.

*  Answered email, worked a bit in the FamilySearch Family Tree on a Seaver line.  Had lunch, wrote Win a FREE RootsTech 2016 (February 3-6, 2016) Registration Here on Genea-Musings.

*  Wrote a post for Friday and one for Saturday while the kids are here.  Took a nap.  Up at 4 p.m. to read, check Facebook, and we went out to dinner to celebrate my birthday to Black Angus.

*  Home by 6:40 p.m. to read the paper, watch football, and clean off more tops as Charlie protection.  Online to add to the Best Of post, then worked in the 1920 Census hints in the database, adding content and sources.  Had to search house, car, garage, etc. for Linda's meds.

*  Left at 11 a.m. to lunch at McDonalds, then to the library but John wasn't there, and into the Computer Group.  Gary got the NARA Fair on his laptop, but it ended live broadcast at 12 noon.  He only had his laptop sound, so everyone got quiet and watched the first hour.  I left at 12:40 p.m. and was home by 1 p.m.

*  Read, added to the Best Of post, then worked capturing Barnstable County, Mass. probates for about ten ancestors.  These are transcripts from the probate court books.

My Genealogy Tuesday - 20 October 2015

Well, we have only three days to tidy up before Charlie comes to visit for the first time.  We're told he can sweep a table or counter top already...so we need to pick up the stuff we don't want swept.  Another cool day - high about 75F, very comfortable.

*  Went in at 5:15 p.m. and watched TV news, ate dinner, read the paper, watched the NLCS game, and worked about 30 minutes in the back yard on the weeds.  Tired after that.
