Randy's Genealogy Day - 16 October 2010

A society meeting, some database work, some baseball and football, and a little blogging.

*  Read email and blogs, then packed up and went to the CGSSD meeting in La Jolla.  Noted that Surname Saturday - DAFOE (Switzerland > NewYork > Ontario) posted.

*  Attended the talk about naturalization experiences and being an American by Del's friend, Aidan Barrett.  Too short, would have liked to have heard more.  Talked to Gary at the break about FamilySearch.  Attended Del's talk on things to do to attract relatives to do genealogy.  Good ideas.  Was home by 11:45 a.m.

*  Read everything, noted that Saturday Night Genealogy Fun - Who's to Blame? posted and went in to have lunch and watch football.  Back after awhile to work in the database.  got the Cs and Ds done in removing the shorthand source data from the place names.

*  Went in at 3 p.m. to watch AL baseball game, read the paper, take a nap.  Watched NL game then, ate dinner, and watched Aztecs game too.  Was in and out several times checking blogs and email, and edited some sketches in my database too.

*  After my Aztecs won 27-25 over Air Force, did more work in the database then wrote the Best Of post for Sunday and this post.

Genealogy today was 8.0 hours - 0.5 hour doing email, 0.5 hour reading blogs, 1.0 hour writing blog posts, 2.5 hours at CGSSD mering, 1.0 hour doing online searching, and 2.5 hours working in my database on places, sources, etc.
