A pretty full genealogy day - finally got a start on the Genealogy 101 course.
* Read email, blogs and Twitter, then wrote Tombstone Tuesday - Interesting Memorials and New Roots Television Videos after watching several videos.
* Got cleaned up, put tax returns in envelopes and down to the post office. Was home by 11:30.
* Started in on Genealogy 101 class presentation. Have first class almost completed, four to do in all! Time flew by ... stopped at 5 p.m.
* Went in at 5 p.m. to watch TV, read the paper, take a nap and have dinner. Back to computer at 7:15 p.m. after watering plants and washing dishes.
* Read everything, answered some emails, then found more D.J. Smith references in the McCook NE newspaper on Chronicling America site. Copied and saved them to files. Wrote More Devier J. Smith tidbits in McCook NE Newspapers and then wrote this post.
Genealogy today was 11.5 hours - 0.5 hour doing email, 0.5 hour reading blog posts, 1.5 hour writing blog posts, 0.5 hour on Facebook/Twitter, 1.0 hour watching RootsTV videos, 2.0 hours working in Chronicling America, and 5.5 hours doing CVGS class work.

Would you be willing to chat on the phone or email about the mechanics of getting content out of Chronicling America?
I work on the project, and we've been tossing around some ideas for improving this, but would appreciate the chance to talk to you about them. My email is ehs at pobox dot com.
