Genealogy Journal - 05/14/08

The genealogy day started out with a bang with all of the announcements from the NGS conference. After reading my email and blogs, I posted about the CGSSD meeting on Saturday, the Ancestry self-congratulatory blurb, and the major industry announcements. I polished up the Genealogy News of the Month, and printed some database items. Then I got ready to go to the library for the CVGS Research Group meeting.

After lunch at home, I went to the library for the meeting. We had 11 there - my report is "CVGS Research Group Discussions - May meeting." When I got home, I emailed the Genealogy News to the CVGS email list and posted it on the CV Genealogy Cafe blog here. I checked email and blogs but went in to watch the news and took a nap before the Padre game and dinner. I read the NGS NewsMagazine and my TGF study article while watching the game after finishing the paper and my book.

After the Padre game (another loss, 8-5 to the Cubs), I talked to Linda on the phone (the baby is cute and thriving) and came back to the computer and read email and blogs. I had forgotten that on Wednesdays I was posting family pictures, so I did that with "Family Photographs -Post 5: Massachusetts Seaver Family." Then I wrote this post.

Genealogy today was 7.5 hours - 0.5 hour reading and writing email, 0.5 hour reading blogs, 2.5 hours writing blog posts, 3.0 hours preparing for and attending the CVGS meeting, 0.5 hour studying the TGF article, and 0.5 hour reading the NGS NM.
