Genealogy Journal - 09/13/08

This was a genealogy day only because I went to two places for genealogy activities, and posted two blogs, and read a bit, but not much else.

After reading email and blogs, I posted Passed Away on Genea-Musings, and then the King and Queen post based on Megan's Ancestry mag article. I packed up and left at 9:30 for the Stein Farm - took the tour and sat at the table but nobody even stopped by except for the other genealogy folks there. A waste of time, but an interesting farm. I left at 11:30 for the SDGS meeting, where I had seminar handouts and made a brief announcement. After the speaker and refreshments, I was on a panel of 5 to answer questions from the audience. Taking notes really helps, I find, as I wait to say something intelligent that somebody else hasn't already said. I kind of like going last.

I was home by 3, and read email, blogs and Facebook, but was tired and went in to read the paper, watch TV and take a nap. At 5, we left for the Padres game, ate at The Tin Fish downtown, and was home by 10:30. Read email and blogs, then this post and I'm done.

Genealogy today was 6.5 hours - 0.5 hour reading email, 0.5 hour reading blogs, 1.0 hour writing blogs, 0.5 hour on Facebook, 1.5 hours at Stein Farm, and 2.5 hours at the SDGS meeting.
