Genea-Journal - Sunday, 16 August 2020

Another warm day - probably 90F here today, and now 84F in the house with the windows open and fans going.

*  Read email and blogs, and we went to church at 9:10 a.m.  It was Tracey's last day and we had a doughnut and punch party for her.  We got to say goodbye.

*  Home by 11 a.m. to write the Amanuensis Monday post.  Had lunch, and watched the Padres game.  Read the paper, and dozed in the recliner.  Padres lost to d-backs 5-4 on a 3-run homer in the 8th inning.  So 5 in a row, and now 11-12.

*  Online to note that Best of the Genea-Blogs - Week of 9 to 15 August 2020 posted.  Answered email and read blogs.

*  Went in to fix dinner at 5 p.m., watched TV, washed dishes, cut some rose bushes, and online at 6:30 p.m. to resolve 167 Ancestry Hints adding content and sources to RootsMagic tree.  Then TreeShared 171 profiles to the Ancestry tree - all in sync now!

*  Walked down the block, then read blogs and checked Facebook and wrote this post.  Genealogy today was 5.0 hours.

Genea-Journal - Saturday, 15 August 2020

*  Online at 1 to eat lunch, noted that Saturday Night Genealogy Fun -- Your Greatest Achievement posted.  Worked on WebHints in RootsMagic finding BMD dates/places for random profiles, adding content and sources.  Matched some random Family Tree profiles too.

*  Checked Twitter and Facebook, then added Life Sketches for about 10 of my 52 Ancestors profiles.

*  Went in at 4:45 p.m. to fix dinner, then watched the Padres game.  Read the paper, washed dishes, read email, blogs and Facebook, read my ebook.  Padres came from 7-1 after 8 to make it 7-6 with a throwout at the plate (again) against D-backs.  So now 11-11, and lost 4 straight.  Need to right this ship on Sunday.

*  Online at 8:30 p.m. to read, finish up the Best Of post, and resolve 102 Ancestry Hints adding content and sources.  Genealogy today was 7.0 hours.

*  Went in to watch the Padres game and we were already behind 5-2 in the 2nd inning.  Read the paper, washed dishes, read my ebook, checked email, read blog posts, checked Facebook.  Padres lost to dodgers 11-2, so now 11-9 at the 1/3 point in the season.  Good, but not great.

Genea-Journal - Sunday, 9 August 2020

We went to church today so that threw a wrench into my usual Sunday schedule.  And the Padres won, so it was a pretty good day.

*  Read email and blogs, but we left for church at 9:10 a.m. and the service was outside in the patio between the two buildings. Everyone wore masks and tried to stay 6 feet apart.  It was sunny but with shade trees above.  It was both modern and classical church music, and a good sermon by pastor Tracey.  She leaves after next Sunday.

*  Home by 10:45 to read, then transcribed the document and wrote the Amanuensis Monday post.

*  Went in at 12:30 for lunch, then watched the Padres game, read the paper, dozed in the recliner for awhile.  Padres got ahead 9-0 in the first 3 innings and coasted to a 9-5 win.  Now 9-7 on the season and off to LA for 4 games this next week.

Genea-Journal - Thursday, 6 August 2020

I feel like I managed my day poorly.  There was no Padres game tonight and I figured that I could write 3 blog posts today, plus do the Friday 52 Ancestors, resolve hundreds of Hints, and get about 50% of the CVGS Newsletter done.  I did 2 blog posts and the 52 Ancestors post, and now I'm behind schedule on CVGS.  OTOH, they don't pay me to do it so if it's a day late, so be it, I guess!

*  Read email and blogs, added to the Best Of post, and noted that Treasure Chest Thursday -- 1707 Marriage of John Plimpton and Susannah Draper in Medfield, Massachusetts posted.  Checked the AncestryDNA matches (0 added).

*  We left at 9:15 a.m. for Linda's eye appointment.  It took over an hour to pick out frames, and home by 12 noon.  Had lunch.

*  Added to the Best Of post, wrote Seavers in The News - Colonel George Seaver Dies in 1938 in San Francisco and took a nap.

*  Online at 2:45 p.m. to read, then answer email, and checked Twitter and Facebook.

*  Started the 52 Ancestors profile and needed to do some editing and finding of records.

*  Went in at 5 p.m. for dinner, watched TV, read the paper, did the dishes.  Took Linda for a walk for the first time in two weeks.

*  Worked on the 52 Ancestors post, downloaded the father's probate file, and wrote up a summary.  Lori called and we did a Duo call too - she showed off my new grand-kitty.  Finished that, and checked blogs and Facebook, and wrote this post.  Genealogy today was 7.5 hours.
