Genealogy Journal - 09/16/08

I'll be so glad when the baseball season is over - I'll have more time to do some
actual research. I stayed home today and made some progress on my presentation for Saturday.

After reading emails and blogs, I added two more Footnote Pages and then posted Searching for Fred on Footnote and Adding a Foster Relationship in FTM 2008. I downloaded several NGSQ issues and printed off the articles I need for the TGSG chat on Thursday. Then I spent several hours working on my Computer Genealogy 101 presentation for Saturday. Nothing like the last minute, eh? After lunch, I worked more on the CG101, did a little research on Project M, checked email, blogs and Facebook, and at 3:45 I went in to watch TV, read the paper, take a nap, eat dinner, watch the Padres game and water the front plants.

After the game, I came back to the computer at 8:30 and checked email and blogs, then wrote about US City Directories . I need to add the web site to my CG101 presentation. I saw a blog post about the California Digital Newspaper Collection and visited it too - another candidate for the CG101 presentation. Then this post and I'm done for the night.

Genealogy today was 9.0 hours - 0.5 hour doing email, 0.5 hour reading blogs, 0.5 hour on Facebook, 2.0 hours writing blog posts, 3.0 hours on the CG101 presentation, 0.5 hour on TGSG, 1.0 hour looking at web sites, 0.5 hour on Footnote Pages, and 0.5 hour on Project M research.
