My Non-Genealogy Weekend - 19-21 October 2013

This was pretty much a non-genealogy weekend because Lori and the grandboys came on Saturday to help celebrate my 70th birthday on Sunday, and they flew home today.  When the boys are here, I hardly have a chance to do anything online.

1)  Saturday, 19 October:  Went to my men's Bible Study breakfast, then to the airport to pick up Lori and the boys.  We stopped at the Chula Vista nature center on the way home (they loved touching the small sharks and rays in the water!), and the Fun4All to play mini-golf and then arcade games.  We ate at Subway, and were home by 1 p.m.  We played baseball out front for awhile which exhausted me, and Logan and I played Monopoly while Lori ran some errands.  Logan wiped me out in two hours.  We watched TV and went out to dinner at the Barbecue Pit.  I was able to read email and blogs but not much else.  Got the Best O post finished too.

2)  Sunday, 20 October 2013:  Linda went off to church, I got the boys fed and read email and blogs.  Watched the Chargers game while Lori went off on errands.  She took Logan with her at 12 noon to set up the party.  Linda and I left after 2 p.m. for the party at church.  It was a wonderful affair - 1950's Theme planned and executed by my two smart daughters, Lori and Tami.  Games, ice cream, cake, testimonials, stories, and there were 70 candles on the cake.  The grandgirls were in poodle skirts (majorly cute!), and the boys dressed in leather jacket and t-shirts.  Logan looked like a young James Dean or Eddie Munster.  We met Tami and family at Lolita's for a quick dinner, then I went with Lori and the boys to Black Angus and they ate there.  I read email and blogs late into the night!  Wrote the Amanuensis Monday and another post for Monday.

3)  Monday, 21 October:  Read email and blogs in the morning, got the boys fed, and we were off at 9:30 a.m. for the San Diego Zoo.  Lori and the boys walked over to the elephants, seeing monkeys, lions, elephants, and polar bears.  We took the Skyride across to the elephants, and we all walked through it and to the Australian exhibit.  Linda's hip and leg hurt, so we called for transport and they took us to the Exit area where Lori and the boys met us for lunch.  We headed home after that.  I got a short nap watching TV, and Lori met her friend.  The boys watched TV and read books.  We headed for the airport at 3:45 p.m. to dfrop them off for home, and I was home by 5:15 p.m.

*  We watched TV news and the football game, ate dinner, then I finally had some online time to note my two posts had posted, and to do some online searching in MyHeritage record matches for Find A Grave.  I used Ancestry, American Ancestors and GenealogyBank to help find more information about some people, adding content and sources.  Then I checked Facebook and wrote this post.

Genealogy today was 3.5 hours.
