Genealogy Journal - 24 July 2009

And a fun genealogy day was had by me...lots of variety today!

* On computer by 8 a.m., read email, blogs and Twitter, then worked in RootsMagic for an hour before posting Fact Lists in RootsMagic 4.

* Was reading Twitter and noted that Terry Thornton's Hill Country Blog is Back! way cool!!! Read Genwise and Facebook too.

* Went off to the bank and McDonalds for lunch - no walk today because George was not in the office.

* Wrote a GenealogyBank post for Saturday morning. Checked into some of the family tree sites - Dynastree, Ancestral Atlas and GeneaNet. Answered some email - made several genealogy reports to send to correspondents.

* Watched the two new RootsTV Jamboree interviews, and listened to Lisa's podcast with footnoteMaven. Blogged about the latter in footnoteMaven talks about genealogy blogging. Good work!

* At 5 p.m., went in to watch TV, have dinner, then do chores, water front plants, sweep floor, take out trash, swat flies, organize garage rack, while waiting for Linda to finish her email task.

* Back online at 7:30 p.m., read everything. Tried to eliminate non-functional blogs from Bloglines - found several and dumped them. Found some interesting ones too! Wrote SNGF post for Saturday. Worked in my FTM 16 big database on sources - did the Newton families and the John Seaver family tonight.

* Posted Interesting Maps after discovering site...then wrote this post.

Genealogy today was 9.5 hours - 2.0 hours reading email, blogs, Twitter, Genwise and Facebook, 3.0 hours writing blog posts, 1.0 hour in RootsMagic, 1.0 hour doing video/podcasts, 1.5 hour working sources in database, 1.0 hour in Family Tree databases.
