Genealogy Journal - 02/21/09

This was a fun genealogy day for me. You'll see why...read on.

I posted The Value of Indexing Imaged Pages this morning before reading email and blogs, and before I left for my men's breakfast and Bible study in National City. I left early and headed for UCSD in La Jolla for the CGSSD meeting at 9 a.m. I was a little late, but caught most of Gary Hoffman's Web-Based Genealogy seminar and then really enjoyed Gena Ortega's "Use Google in Your Genealogy." I had lunch with Gena, John Kracha, Joan Lowrey and Barbara Renick, and we had a fun time talking about research, hardware, software, web sites, etc. It was great to see Gena in action again - she is a great presenter. I was home by 2 p.m.

I checked email and blogs, then Facebook, and posted "Web-Based Genealogy" with Gary Hoffman at CGSSD Today. Linda came home, so I watched TV news and took a nap before we went out to Daphne's and coldstone Creamery for dinner. We were home by 6:30, and I wrote Saturday Night Fun - Who's Number 21 and two blog posts for tomorrow. I checked Facebook, and answered some emails, then wrote this post and I'm done for the night.

Genealogy today was FUN - 8.5 hours - 0.5 hour doing email, 0.5 hour reading blogs, 2.5 hours writing blog posts, 0.5 hour on Facebook, and 4.5 hours at the CGSSD meeting and lunch.
