Genealogy Journal - 10/07/08

Genealogy, FHC, genealogy, dinner/debate, genealogy...not a bad game plan for the day!

After reading my email and blogs (Bloglines still hasn't fixed some feeds - it's been at least four days), I posted Using GeneaNet.com - Post 1. I worked for awhile in GeneaNet, downloading more screen shots and testing it out more. I printed out the CVGS newsletter and read it, then the windows guys came. At 10:30, I had some lunch and packed up to go to the FHC to drop some flyers and do some research. I stayed longer than I expected.

I was home by 1:45, and read email and blogs, then wrote Update on contacting a living relative. I must have done something really useful in the next two hours but I'll be darned if I can remember what - where's my time journal when I need it? Aha - I researched the genealogy news of them onth for the CVGS meeting tomorrow! I posted about the CVGS research Trip to the SDGS Library and the Volume II, Surnames C and D index for the Early California Families book on the Chula Vista Genealogy Cafe. Then it was time for a nap, read the paper, watch TV news, have dinner, watch the debate, and the post-debate.

I came back to the computer at 8 p.m. and spent some time on Facebook, then worked on my prospective filing system. Then I wrote this post.

Genealogy today was 9.5 hours - 0.5 hour doing email, 0.5 hour reading blogs, 2.0 hours writing blog posts, 1.0 hour exploring GeneaNet, 2.0 hours at the FHC, 0.5 hour on Facebook, 1.0 hour working with my data file management, and 2.0 hours of researching the genealogy news of the month for CVGS.
