Genealogy Journal - 08/14/08

Not a big genealogy day for me - no one wanted to go to the Padres game this afternoon with Linda, so I had to go. We left at 10:30 a.m., on the trolley, had lunch at the deli near Petco Park. It was warm and sunny, not my kind of weather. I stood in the shade when I could and stayed semi-wet. At least we won! We got home at 4, but I took a nap and by the time dinner was over, it was 6:30 p.m.

I spent almost two hours this morning reading email, reading blogs, checking out Facebook and writing Genea-bloggers Favorite Photographs and CVGS Research Group Report (copied from the CVGenCafe blog).

When I got back on the computer at 6:30 p.m., I had lots of email (!) and blogs to read. I went to www.Webtree.com and captured some screens of my database there, saved them as .jpg files, and wrote Checking Out WebTree.com - Post 2. I checked my Genealympics successes over the last 3 days, and wrote them up in My Geneaslympics - Days 3 - 5. I had a fellow call me yesterday asking for help - he sent an email with his problem, so I spent an hour looking for his grandfather in the census records. It's a tough one.

Genealogy today was 4.5 hours - 0.5 hour doing email, 0.5 hour reading blogs, 2.0 hours writing blogs, 0.5 hour on Facebook, and 1.0 hour doing research for my correspondent.
