Family History Journal - 08/19/08

Today was my grandmother's 109th birthday, and my father-in-law's 97th birthday. I miss them both!

Genealogy took a back seat to family history today. I was able to post about Piggly Wiggly and more neighborhood stores this morning, and checked my email, blogs and Facebook, but that was about all I did. I got the bedrooms ready for Lori and the boys, Lucas (age 4.9) and Logan (age 2.5). I left at 11:10 for the airport, and their flight was on time, and we were home by 12:30 pm. We had lunch and I fell asleep putting Logan down for his nap. Then I tried to put Lucas down but he wouldn't sleep. I gave up at 3:15 and we went out back and played for awhile, then took a walk down the block. Logan woke up, and we played on the floor, had snacks and watched TV. Lori took Lucas to the store and Logan and I blew bubbles in the back yard and he chased some balls around. Dinner was OK, and bedtime went well, interspersed with books, stories and hugs.

I finally was back on the computer at 8 p.m., checked email and blogs, wrote the NEHGR TOC post, checked Facebook, wrote the LDS NFS post and then this post.

Genealogy today was 3.0 hours - 0.5 hour reading email, 0.5 hour reading blogs, 1.5 hour writing blog posts, and 0.5 hour on Facebook. Not much genealogy, but a lot of family history!!!
