My Genealogy Sunday - 9 August 2015

Another week rolled by and I hardly noticed.  Life is pretty full right now and my research time is squeezed.  I have to get my Saturday presentation done by Friday, but I need the handout by Tuesday or so.  Monday sounds like the right day to finish it.

*  Read email and blogs, and finished up the Best of the Genea-Blogs - 2 to 8 August 2015 post.

*  We left for church at 9:30 a.m. and stopped at the store afterwards, home by 12:15 p.m.  Started the new Best Of post.

*  Went in at 1 p.m. to eat lunch and watch the Padres game.  Read the paper, got a fitful nap in the recliner, and Padres lost 5-3 to Phillies.  6 in a row lost, now 52-60.  Still hopeless.

*  Online at 4 p.m. to read, wrote Added or Updated Databases at Ancestry.com - Week of August 2 to 8, 2015 and wrote another post for Monday.

*  Went in at 5:30 p.m. to eat dinner and watch TV news.  Online at 6:15 p.m. to read, then made the last edit to the CVGS Newsletter.  Transcribed the Nicholas Sever will and wrote the Amanuensis post for Monday morning.  Sent the Newsletter to the society email list.  Checked Facebook.

*  Went in at 8:50 p.m. to wash dishes, then watched the Alfre Woodard episode of WDYTYA?

*  Online at 10 p.m. to write this post, check Facebook, and done.  Genealogy today was 5.0 hours.

My Genealogy Friday and Saturday - 7 and 8 August 2015

Life interrupts journaling some nights.  No progress on the presentation, and no research of any consequence these two days.

1)  Friday, 7 August 2015:

*  We left at 9:30 a.m. for the health center and Linda's appointment.  All is well, although she forgot her list of questions.  Stopped by Ralph's for groceries and home by 11:30 a.m.

*  Online to read, add to the Best Of post, answer email, and looked at Ancestry Academy and then checked Fold3 for some military records without success.

*  Research and wrote My Relationships to U.S. Presidents - Post 6: Presidents 11-15.  Started the CVGS newsletter for August.

*  Took an hour nap.  Online at 3:30 p.m. to write the Surname Saturday post, then checked Facebook, and matched several families in RootsMagic to the FamilySearch Family Tree.

*  Went in at 5 p.m. to eat dinner, watch TV, and read the paper.  Online at 6:10 p.m. to read, then wrote the SNGF post.  Edited the CVGS seminar flyer for Susi.

*  Went in at 7:30 p.m. to watch the Padres game, and read my book.  It went 12 innings until 11:25 p.m., and Pads lost 4-3 to Phillies, so now 52-58.  Lost 4 straight.

*  Online at 11:35 p.m. to read, edit the flyer and send it back.  They didn't use it.  No journaling.  Genealogy today was 8.5 hours.

2)  Saturday, 8 August 2015:

*  Read email and blogs, noted that Surname Saturday -- SMITH (England to colonial Massachusetts) posted.

*  Left at 9:10 a.m. for the SDGS meeting, talked to Ron Arons a bit, enjoyed the two presentations, and the refreshments.

*  Drove to the LDS Stake in Chula Vista for the last two hours of the Family discovery Day.  Didn't attend any classes, hung out in the exhibit hall and met some of the local LDS folks.  Had a demo of Ancestry working with FSFT for LDS members.  Talked to CVGS folks at the table too.

*  Home by 2:45 p.m. and took a nap.  Online at 3:45 p.m., noted that Saturday Night Genealogy Fun -- How Many Elizabeth "LNUs" are in Your Family Tree Database? posted.  Worked more on the CVGS Newsletter.

My Semi-Genealogy Day - 2 August 2015

e gave Audrey back to her folks after three days with us.  I did some genealogy tonight.

*  Read email and blogs, then finished up the Best of the Genea-Blogs - 26 July to 1 August 2015 post.

*  Got Audrey up at 8:30, fed and packed, and we went off to church at 9:40 a.m.  She had a good time at Sunday school.  We took off for Carlsbad to meet Tami and the family, but Audrey had to go potty 20 miles up the road.  We didn't find a potty for 20-25 minutes, then it took 30 minutes to get to Carlsbad.  Got to see Lauren and Charlie too at In 'n' Out.

*  Home by 2:15 p.m. to read, then took a nap, and wrote Added or Updated Databases at Ancestry.com - Week of July 26 to August 1, 2015.  Worked on the FamilySearch post for Monday too.

*  Ate dinner, read the paper and watched TV news.  Online at 6:45 p.m. to read, then transcribed Mercy Sever's will and wrote the Amanuensis post for Monday.  Found more probate records on FamilySearch for Mercy and Jane (Russell) Sever too.  Saved them to the files.

My Semi-Geneaholic Saturday - 1 August 2015

*  Read email and blogs, noted that Surname Saturday -- HOBART (England > colonial Massachusetts) posted.

*  Printed off the handout for the workshop this afternoon.  Wrote the SNGF post.  Gathered my laptop and handouts up, even found the big flash drive (on my nightstand).

*  Watched the Padres game, took a nap, and read the paper.  We ate dinner, and I watered front yard and waashed dishes.  Got everything back in fridge and emptied coolers in back yard.  Padres beat Marlins 5-3, so now 51-53 and won 12 of 16.  Is this a false hope?

*  Online at 7:15 p.m.  Noted that Saturday Night Genealogy Fun -- Survey of Genealogy Activities posted. Worked on Ancestry Hints, got 222 resolved, adding some sources and content to RootsMagic.

*  Worked in FamilySearch Family Tree matching people in RootsMagic and enriching the FSFT.  Was going along in one line when RootsMagic suddenly froze.  Need to reboot?
